^^^The only thing is, I havent really seen the internet buzz translate to record sales yet, like a street cosign does. Theyll probably make good live show money from the buzz, but e.g. Bake sale sold like 3000 in the 1st week. I dont think Mickey factz, Asher Rith or even Charles hamilton would do that well on Billboard right now compared to the street tested folks. This will probably all change eventually, but I cant think of any examples that prove this wrong.
October 10th, 2008 at 1:57 pm
I don’t see the problem with rappers putting “young” at the end of there name, I really don’t, it’s just like back in the day when every rapper put “Mc” in the beginning of there name, word to “Mc New York”
Now the “hot” after young is a different story.

TRENTON — A Superior Court judge yesterday reduced bail to $200,000 for a city woman accused of shooting a man during an argu ment last week.
Akilah “Kee-Kee” Tolbert, of the 300 block of North Broad Street, is charged with attempted murder and weapons charges in the shooting of Charles Cooke, 47.
Cooke, who lives on the 400 block of South Olden Avenue, was shot near his home Sept. 29. Prosecutors said Cooke was shot while attempting to intervene in a dispute between Tolbert and another woman.
According to prosecutors, a witness saw Cooke cross the street, then heard three loud pops. The witness turned back to see Tolbert standing over Cooke with a gun in her hand.
“Now what, BITCH?” Tol bert was overheard asking the victim, prosecutors said.
The witness later identified Tol bert from a photo lineup, prosecutors said.
Judge Darlene Pereksta lowered Tolbert’s bail from $250,000.

Former Olympic track star gets 5 years for heroin
By STEVE SZKOTAK, Associated Press Writer
8 minutes ago
NORFOLK, Va. (AP)—Disgraced former Olympic track star Tim Montgomery, once dubbed “the world’s fastest man,” was sentenced Friday to five years in prison for dealing heroin to an informant.
“I was blind—I never had a job in my life,” Montgomery told U.S. District Judge Jerome B. Friedman. “I did the wrong thing.” Montgomery, 33, will serve the five-year sentence after he completes a 46-month prison term for an unrelated conviction in New York. Under an agreement with the government, he pleaded guilty in July to possession and distribution of more than 100 grams of heroin. He received the minimum term under federal sentencing guidelines.
A prosecutor described Montgomery’s athletic skills as “super-human,” but said he had squandered his talent and the acclaim and the money that came with it. Montgomery won an Olympic gold medal in the 400-meter relay at the 2000 games and a silver in the same event four years earlier. A doping scandal wiped his achievements from the books.

>so because nation isn’t from the hood, he can’t speak on Hip-hop? smh.
^When did I say that? He questioned me first when he said I been on here all the time. I just had to clear that up, & of course he can, I never said he couldn’t, but he will never understand how important a street buzz is, he prolly never will experience what it was like when “reasonable doubt” came out & every car that rode pass was playing it, or 50 when he got hot. He just don’t know how important to this day a street buzz is, he really thinks the internet can break a artist before the streets can now since the game went digital, that’s what I said.
———————————————————————————–
>I’m from the hood, and nobody in the hood I’m from listens to the niggas Joe is on here talking about.

^Cool. That’s what I been saying, but no one opinion holds more weight than the other in the comment section, of course you control what get’s posted, but niggas be really thinking what they say goes for everyone around the world, when I speak I speak for myself & the people I be around & the enviorment I be in, that’s all, so when I say no one I know bump joe B, it’s the truth, but anywhere else I can’t speak for.

lyrical ability doesnt mean much in this day and age.. 8 yrs ago, if niggas was possessing the lyrical skills these niggas have today then year. This is why Pun was looked upon so greatly. Not everyone could twist words like him. Today everyone has adopted and mastered the scheme. So Now just cause you can twist words clever and make it sound good really dont mean shit. Niggas is still missing that factor.
