Mick Boogie Talks The Honor Roll
Tonight’s the night. Just as the VH1 Hip-Hop Honors broadcast begins, Mick Boogie’s newest and most ambitious project yet will debut right here on Nah Right.
Over the span of two weeks, Mick brought together some of the game’s hottest MC’s to pay homage to some of the many classics in the catalogs of this year’s Hip-Hop Honors honorees.
Mick, Dan Solomito and producer 6th Sense chopped it up with the homey Gotty from The Smoking Section about the mixtape and how it came about.
TSS: Whose idea was the tape originally?
Mick: Mine. Two weeks ago, I was sitting on the beach in Miami with my wife and we were talking about how dope the Honors are every year. And the idea just hit me. So for the rest of our vacation she sat at the beach reading and sunning while I sat under an umbrella with my Blackberry and iPhone and got the thing in motion. Then when we got back, I commissioned a few of my friends to really help get things popping, since we had less than two weeks to knock it out. Since it was so last minute, VH1 was not involved initially but they are very impressed and we are in negotiations to make it official next year, which is really exciting.

Regardless if Kimbo lost to fag or not, (he did, the guy had pink/purple hair at the time of the fight), he still lost shamefully, as the guy didn’t even really land a solid punch that would warrant the kind of lack of response Kimbo displayed. Kimbo’s career is over, go back to the porn industry, I bet he had a better life then anyway.

Kimbo lost to a homo. No ifs ands or buts about it. Dude describes himself as a goofy homo. Nothing wrong with him being gay though. As far as Kimbo’s career being over, really? Do people really hate him that much? It’s not like he contacted MMA/UFC/whatever the fuck. Dude was beating dudes up in backyards; him getting into MMA and getting money/endorsements is the American Dream. He’ll probably fight some more, get another headliner or two, then retire hopefully richer and wealthier. I don’t see how people can get mad at him.
