^In all fairness, how is changing the dress code killing hip hop? We went through many phases and it’s only inevitable for it to change for it to evolve. You might not LIKE it, but I don’t see how it’s detrimental:

80’s = tight ass pants/jeans, leather hats/pants, no strings in shoes, Euro-centric gear

early 90’s [New Jack Swing/afrocentric movemnt] = extra baggy clothes, RBG attire, HBCU hoodies, African medallions, combat boots

mid-90’s[grunge era] = Carhartts, lumberjacks, Goretex, Nauti’ sweats, leather bombers, camoflauge/fatigue

late-90’s [Black brands] = Sean John, Fubu, Maurice Malone, Sir Benni Miles (LOL), Mecca, Triple Five Soul, etc.

early Y2K’s = jean suits, velour suits, throwbacks, other shit I can’t remember

now = schmedium thugs and hipsers

thats complete and utter bullshit, i spend a little time on line and many of my friends spend less and 90 percent of these terms came from lines in real songs that we say to this day

for example if somebody loses an argument or a battle they got ethered (just a little stab at jay stans) but u get my drift

^Okay, I understand you now, but what I was saying is majority of people I be around aren’t hip to hip hop sites, so I would look like a fool saying something no one else understands &, internet talk is like a inside joke only I know about around my friends, cause I did let “godson……” slide out one time & it was total silence for like four minutes, niggas ranked on me for atleast a half.
