Mos Def - Auditorium (Live)

Performed at his show in DC last week. You might recognize the song from his impromptu at Magic last winter or the beat from a Madlib beat tape.
The acoustic is kinda crazy. Hopefully this and the work he’s done for Talib means some Madlib will be featured on the upcoming Black Star album.

The fact that this song wasnt on it “Free at Last” was an epic failure on Freeway and or Def Jam’s behalf….

mos used this verse and hook on kweli’s beautiful mixtape 2 years ago. it’s still a dope verse and hook though. i liked it with the original beat WAY better though, and kweli’s clumsy usage of the n-word to sound down throughout his verse notwithstanding, kwe kinda held it down too. mos definitely outshined him on that song though. wonder if he’ll keep kweli’s verse for the album? this should be the remix and he should keep the original beat for ‘what it is’ IMO. i think the same beat got used in a boost mobile commercial with kanye and the game though, if memory serves. but they slayed that beat SO well.
