as a whole, this song is kinda hot (probably because of trey on the hook).. but comical at the same time…
willie and LA the darkman haven’t even dropped anything worth listening to before…
and pretty much every verse was sub-par. i could hardly understand what gucci was even saying…
September 24th, 2008 at 8:06 pm
I don’t particularly mean to hate but what is the deal with niggas wearing those retard glasses. Gucci takes this to a whole new level considering how dumb the niggas looks w/o the damn glasses. Im also a little sick of niggas pretending to get tatted in videos like if they were really getting tatted they would be moving around like they were on a drumline and making all kinds of silly motions.

@ RJ - I got to admit I gave up and stopped watching awhile ago, I kept meaning to watch the kid Aceves but wasn’t paying attention enough to catch him how has he looked ? I heard good things
also co-sign big hanks is heated right now, talking like they need to rearrange the rules just for the yankees, yeah he is whining but you got to love how bad he just wants to win, they are signing anyone and everyone they want next year.
the pitchers are a guarantee they just better get either Texieria or Prince for first and get another power bat for the outfield and we are good

….. I can’t lie I haven’t been watching, first time in years but I can’t stomach watching the yankees play games where the only purpose is seeing what you got for next year, I’m used to that shit with the Jets and Nets but not the Yankees that shit hurts, i readily admit I’m spoiled but I’d rather keep being spoiled, but thats damn good to hear, I knew the kid would come around he is mad young and you could se in those early games he was just over excited and he never looked like he had bad stuff ever, he would just throw too hard or try to place it too much but you could tell once he got comfortable he would be ridiculous .

It’s been some year for Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter. In the past 12 months, the Brooklyn, N.Y.-born hip-hop demigod released a platinum album, signed a 10-year, $150 million deal with concert promoter Live Nation and tied the knot with longtime girlfriend Beyonce Knowles. Quite a record. But only good enough for a silver medal.
While Jay-Z topped Forbes.com’s inaugural Hip-Hop Cash Kings list of the top-earning people in the business last year, in 2008 he cedes the throne to Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who raked in $150 million over the past 12 months–almost twice what Jay-Z made.
The new king of hip-hop wealth banked $100 million after taxes on one deal alone when his stake in VitaminWater’s parent, Glaceau, was bought by Coca-Cola as part of a $4.1 billion deal. 50’s portfolio also includes the popular G-Unit clothing line and record label, plus films, videogames and a slew of platinum albums, including last year’s Curtis. Also in the works: a mining partnership with South African billionaire Partrice Motsepe (see “The 50 Cent Machine”).
50 Cent isn’t the only star in the growing firmament of “hip-hopreneurs.” After years of violent rivalry marked by the murders of such icons as Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G., rap’s focus has shifted from beef to cake–making money, that is. Unlike most pop and rock musicians, who make the bulk of their earnings from record sales and tours, rappers have more diversified portfolios.

yeszur. the pitching is straight for years to come.
the problem spots are 1B, & getting some youth, power & athleticism in the outfield. all that said, they’re gonna win about 90 games this year, after losing 3/5 of their starting rotation, plus Posada, plus Jeter playing with basically one hand all year. Wang alone would have been good for about 6 or 7 more wins this year. the Yankees demise has been overstated. Girardi did a damn good job, considering the circumstances. with good health, and more experience from the young cats, plus whatever money Hank spends, the Yankees will be back in Championship form again next year. especially with the insurgence of energy from the new stadium. all the injuries were an aberration, and a valid excuse.
prince fielder would be perfect.

You don’t know shit about sports do you? Look at their team ERA dude! One of the worse in the AL and MLB. Look at how many innings their starters log on per avg start, it’s less then 5 innings per outing. Most of the Yankees $200 million payroll is tied into hitting and not pitching. When Mike Mussina is your ace and Andy Pettite is your 2nd best pitcher with a 13-15 record you have pitching problems!
Also they Yankees need a real leadoff hitter who can actually threaten to steal bases (ie Reyes of the Mets) Look at the lineup that will still be on the books for next year…. Nady, Jeter, A-Rod, Cabrera, Abreu.. Let’s be real here the Red Sox don’t have a lineup of hitters even close to the calibar of these guys but they win because they have great pitching. Pitching is the key, you can’t win w/o it! Maybe you need to look from 2000-2008 and count how many world series wins we have.. NADA
September 24th, 2008 at 9:09 pm
everyone in the American league has pitching.
you have to be able score runs every night to be good.
yankees lost too many 4-2, 5-3 games.
gotta score 5+ runs a night in the AL to get rings.
with all the talk about not trading for Johan Santana, a bigger mistake was not singning Torii Hunter. he wanted to be a yankee BADLY. now the Angels have him and they are the best team in baseball.

The last thing the Yankees needed to do was pick up another semi-old player. They need to get some young blood, build up their farm systems and bring guys up just like they did with Jeter, Rivera, hell even Bernie Williams.
Also everyone in the AL does not have pitching. Ya niggas need to stick to talking about Lil Waynes tattoos because you motherfuckers look at Sport Center and Around The Horn once a month and think you’re experts.. GTFOH
September 24th, 2008 at 9:14 pm
the Yankees problem was hitting they left too many runners on base, way more than excusable, they can all hit when the game is already decided or just starting and no one is one base but they all hit way below avg. with runners in scoring position, watch a game you’d see that more than anything… plus there was not one hitter on the Yankees that was near the career avg, except maybe Nady, atleast we had Mussina pitching the best he ever has
and co-sign Torri Hunter being the biggest mistake, he would of been perfect for D and hitting obviously

I do agree that the Yankees need to work on that lineup a bit, but they need pitching! They’ve needed pitching for almost 7 or 8 years now. Anyway ya’ I respect all ya’s opinons and at least we all want the same goal. For the Yankees to win again and not the bullshit AL Pennant, we need that 27th ring!

My fault did the Yankees win the WS with all those runs they scored last season…
—————-
no.
BUT THEY FINISHED IN FIRST PLACE, NOT THIRD. OR FOURTH EVEN.
they need bats.
——————–
So now the goal is coming in 1st place and losing in the 1st round of the playoffs.. Ok now I got it!

XFACTA check how many runs the Yankees scored last year.
then check that stat for this year.
also check the comparative batting averages with runners in scoring position for each season.
thats whats up.
you dont score, you dont win.
ace pitching is overrated.
get some healthy cats who eat up innings, and pile up the runs.
(c) the LA Angels and Tampa Rays and Chicago Cubs..
…exactly, pitching wins in the playoffs, you need an ace to shut down high powered line-ups but a high powered offense will always make it to the playoffs because they beat up on the shitty pitching throughout the season because more pitchers can’t shut down a high powered offense than ones that can… .the Yankees just aren’t a high powered lineup as currently constructed, they got too many holes in the line-up there 8 and 9 hitters used to be just as tough an out as anyone now pitchers didn’t fear anyone, not even a-rod they stayed going after him …

… who do you think will pay him as much as the Yankees ? theres 4 or 5 players they will break the bank/draft picks for C.C. Burnett ( if only cause he wouldn’t be able to kill them anymore ) Texieria or Fielder …
^^^^
I don’t think anyone’s gonna outbid the the Yankees maybe the Angels but they already have a good pitching staff, CC’s gonna get more money than Zito did
.. yeah the Angels aren’t gonna drop that cash on CC with their pitching now, plus you have to give up a first round draft pick at least to get him, they won’t want to do that after all the innings CC has thrown this year, the Yankees are the only ones who will be willing to ignore that and pay out of control for him…
September 24th, 2008 at 9:39 pm
You guys are missing the point. Who gives a fuck if you win in the regular season if you don’t win the World Series. We aren’t the fucking Tampa Rays, we are the Yankees. It’s about the Chips not about winning the AL East
September 24th, 2008 at 9:41 pm
If hitting is so great then why is it that Bonds, A-Rod, Vlad and countless others have horrible playoffs numbers?? Because it’s about the pitching in the playoffs

September 24th, 2008 at 9:45 pm
but you need to understand something about baseball, the best 8 teams almost always make the playoffs because over the course of 162 games you can get a pretty accurate gage for whose the best teams, in 7 and even 5 game series the best team doesn’t always or even usually win, the goal now is get in the playoffs and anything can happen ( see St. Louis world series a couple years ago ) and plus you can’t win the Series if you can’t make the playoffs, typical bandwagon type comment, your right we aren’t the Rays they have been developing their own young talent for over a decade and it’s paying off now, the yankees just recently started developing young talent and guess what it’s all pitching scroll back up and look at the list of our probable Pitchers for next year and realize we need bats now

… yeah I heard they are planning on letting k-rod walk they don’t want to break the bank on a 3 out pitcher, but they will for Texiera and I bet he stays thats why I have moved on to hoping we get Prince
September 24th, 2008 at 9:47 pm
but you have to get to the playoffs FIRST.
to make the playoffs in the AL, you have to score runs.
THEN whoevers pitching gets hot in the playoffs, wins rings.
gotta be in it to win it.
cant make the playoffs with Abreu as your 3 hitter, and GIambi as your 5 hitter, and Damon as your leadoff hitter.
thats mediocre shit.
i see what you are trying to say from a Yankee perspective about playing for championships though, XFACTA.
but still, they cant think that far ahead, because reality is, they are a third place team that is rebuilding.
period.

.. word, I’m not argueing they need some Aces for the playoffs but they need to get their first and theres no way Hank lets CC and burnett go anywhere else, who knows if either of them make it through the year next year but they will be in NY next year no one is gonna come close to matching the Yankees
September 24th, 2008 at 9:52 pm
For such a bad team the Yankees may still win 90 games this season. If they had pitching this year like their real ace Wang. They would have at least 6-7 more wins… 97 wins would have gotten them to the playoffs, and therefore my pitching argument wins… Ok maybe not.. LOL

.. yeah and the Brewers pissed him off by not offering more money in the offseason, he lost his arbitration case and didn’t get near he what he wanted and he was pissed, the Brewers have basically said they aren’t resigning anyone this year because they know they won’t want to pay near what they will get, this is a one year and done deal for the Brewers
