    The fact that the nigga sounded so country and mumbled the shit, kinda disturbed me and caught me by surprise….I mean he did go to wake forest….and he don’t be talking like that in interviews….

    how can outkast be so damn great, with BigBoi being such a subpar MC.

    PhifeDog is a better MC

    Vinrock is as well

    lil Fame too.

    why is Outkast so great? 3000 is a slightly above average MC (for a southerner). i can say that their beats on Atliens & Aquemini, were mad original, and carried their sound. but if you put either of them dudes in a beat-less cipher, with some REAL MCs, neither of them would probably even dare to open their mouths. they’re pop-stars, not great MCs. they make good radio songs, but they dont move the crowd as pure MCs.

    I agree with Rock’s breakdown on how he determines what makes a nice MC as oppose to other standards. Like he said, Greg Nice made the simplicity work for him (a la, the reason I can dig Max B), but I’m stickler for the technical bars.

    its a historical fact that the better MCs have always come from northern, or eastern states.

    there are a few real good MCs from VA/DC/MD area.

    Phonte from N.Carolina.

    Ludacris, Lil Wayne, the old Juve, Scarface, and though i dont like their work, 3000 & T.I.

    after that, you’d be hard pressed to name a true great MC from the south. personal favorites aside.

    2008 is a great year for rap and southern hip-hop

    I hope ya’ll realize that times have changed and the music is changing……standards for who’s the best and what’s hot is different…..the technical abstract bar era was GREAT for its time but its irrelevant in today’s atmosphere….

    I use to argue up and down with southern niggas about how their music is wack, but I come to realize that every region like what they like and they judge accordingly….90 percent of the stuff on nahright would be considered trash to most people in the south….and 90 percent of the stuff is trash to most people in the north…so who is to say who is right…

    I exorcisisted myself from being a hip-hop elitist and have come to terms that southern rap is just as good as East Coast and West Coast rap….Everybody has different taste…….I’ll carry that cross

    Redman sometimes has assinine and moronic lyrics, but he is a great MC
