K-rod’s a bit overrated right now because he never has to get hard saves, never more than 3 outs always in great save situations and he got waaaay more chances than most do this year but still can you honestly let him go sign somewhere else because we have 1 more year of Mariano ?

plus, the Yankees need to put Joba back in the pen, so he can be the Almighty Mariano Rivera’s successor.

@ R.J. – yeah but K-rod has to throw like no more than 12 pitches a game to get those saves, I bet you he is in the middle of the pack for pitches thrown as a closer maybe even closer to the bottom, and if they keep him to be strickly a ninth inning guy I don’t see a problem, I think people are making too much of this Joba’s not built to be a starter, theres a lot of starting pitchers that are built like him, he needs to learn when to throw the curve and slider more but I don’t think he is at anymore injury risk than any other starter. and if you move Joba to the Pen ( he would definitely excell there no doubt but then we got another gapping hole in the rotation )
a starting rotation of Sabathia Burnett Wang Joba and Mussina as the # 5 would be very nice to see
