   huh? evolution isnt exclusive the apes. and religion dictates that god made man, not man evolved from apes, so per the religion convo evolution is null, void & non existant.

   ^I was replying to a comment that said we evolved from apes. My question was if we evolved from apes, why arent more apes evolving into humans

    I wasn’t referring to the stories Jesus told. By parables, I was referring to all the stories in the Bible that people take as literally happening (i.e. Noah building a boat the size of Massachusettes, the Garden of Eden, burning bushes etc) that (to me, at least) are at best metaphors for the human condition, and at worst, fairy tales. In retrospect, considering that Jesus did relay parables, that probably wasnt the best word to use.

    Word.. well.. If I look at all there is to look at on earth.. and already believe that God was responsible for all of it. Its not that far of a stretch to imagine those stories are possible.

    Disbelief can be just as detrimental to open-mindedness as some argue belief is.
