I mean if an album has so little impact on you that you haven’t had the urge to listen to it in years, and barely even remember that it exists at all…why do you consider it ‘classic’…if an album is largely forgotten about and has absolutely ZERO impact less than 10 years after it’s release, it’s not a classic.

Im 19 years old i have never listened to the Paid & Full album all the way through i bought a while ago still have it but i havent listen to the whole thing does that mean that that album isnt classic of course not it just means that im not a Rakim fan if you are a jay-nas fan then you probably listen to Kingdom Come or Nastradamus alot it doesnt mean that those are classics,90% of eminem fans are white but 99.9% of black hip hop listener respect em but arent “Stans” of him so for them who dont listen to eminem albums on the regular so that shouldnt take away from his work if eminem talked about Projects building shooting selling crack etc.. instead of trailer parks and alcoholics white people doesnt that count less as and therfore isnt “Classic” materials.

You play something like “Shook Ones pt. 2″.. or “The World is Yours”, or “Dead Presidents” (all CLASSIC material) vs. any track on the MMLP cd… and Em’s stuff just doesn’t hold up for whatever reason…

@ sleep… You wildin’ chief. I can bump Illmatic on a crisp, Fall day in the whip on blast and both the homies and honies will can’t help but to recognize. The only song that ARGUABLY sounds dated ,IMO, on there is the “New York City” joint, but it’s a great opener to an album. I still love that beat. But niggas will grill me in my city for drivin’ around with that on blast.
