Video: Lil Wayne Calls Out Eminem
Weezy sits down with Semtex at a coffee shop in Amsterdam.
He says he hasn’t heard a wack A Millie freestyle yet. Says Lil Mama and Jay’s versions are his favorites.
He didn’t know “Dr. Carter” was on the album. Says the beat was originally for Jay-Z.
He says he thinks Jay Electronica is nice and would be willing to work with him.
Calls out Eminem, says he wants to do a song with him.

so imagine if eminem’s fans go the first day and buy the first day the next album !!! look 50cent curtis was 600k …. Ye Graduation 900k
weezy 1000k yeah but look now C3 is 2300k and Graduation 2100k right now !!! so it’s not really AN enormous Difference !!!

remember the Game 4 millie Documentary, AND eminem it’s every time 2 or 3 millie EAZY !! thus
it’s stupid to say Weezy A millie first week !! so he’s the best right now..

Man Eminem is corny and wack as shit now….it isn’t 2001 anymore folks…Eminem fell off like the other late 90′s/early 2000′s pop stars like Britney Spears and Limp Bizkit…that era is over, nobody gives a fuck about them anymore…I mean really, think of the last big collaboration Eminem was on…it was that horrible ass track Touchdown on TI vs TIP, which was a big reason why that was Tip’s worst album to date…I’ll pass, I’d rather not hear a wayne track with Eminem in 2008

exactly my point, that album has aged horribly. “New Kids on the Block sucked alot of dick”? That shit has no relevance now, and what makes an album a classic is its ability to maintain culture relevence for years after its release. Marshall Mathers does not fit in this category. “Real Slim Shady”? the entire last third of the album? you can honestly say this shit is still dope? its not.

Who said Wayne had a classic? Wasnt me. My point was that neither does Eminem. And if murdering people on tracks made one great, Jada would be the greatest MC of all time. The “he got murdered on tracks” argument is lame for any rapper. I just heard Nas get murdered on “Black president”. Does that mean Jeezy>Wayne? Of course it doesnt.

Fair enough, but if that’s what you’re trying to capture, Marshall Mathers doesnt “transport me to the time I was bumping it”. 2001 does, but not MMLP. But to answer your question, “hasnt aged well”, means that the album simply doesnt sound as good to you in the present as it did in the past. Blueprint does, Cuban Linx does, etc, etc.

When I said mofo’s wasn’t calling c3 a classic, I wasn’t saying no one was, cause it’s a whole gang of regular joes w/ blogs & websites now that can say whatever they fell from the comfort of there couch, it wasn’t like that when MMLP dropped, Vh1 (before the coonery began) did a whole special dedicated to the MMLP album, I think XXL gave it a XXL, & many other mags & such was calling it a classic, that’s what I was comparing, the people who was calling MMLP a classic compared to the people that called c3 a classic.
If you go back & liste to the 1st 3 em albums, it’s not a question that the eminem show is the best one, the slim shady cd was the most lyrical, & the MMLP cd was the most popular & was his highest point in his career

“hasn’t aged well? what does that even mean? when I listen to an album, I want it to transport me back to the time when it first came out and I was bumpin it.”
It means that the shit sounds corny and borderline wack today…an album aging horribly means it fails one of the foremost qualifications of what a classic album is: Timeless…MMLP doesn’t do that for me…I listen to it and immediately realize dude for what he was, a shock rapper turned pop superstar due to the Interscope Machine at its peak…an album full of a dude rapping about dissing N’SYNC and Britney Spears and corny middle school type humor that (not surprisingly) I found funny in middle school but lame today, does not make for a classic album…Stan stands out as perhaps a classic single, but other than that when I listen to it I can’t help but look at Em today the same exact way I look at Britney and Limp Bizkit…and also realize it’d be impossible for him to make a comeback at this point…that era was fleeting and has passed

Good point Rigz, for real. I will say that in the sense of its immense popularity and the material it spawned (Get Rich or Die trying, Eminem show etc), MMLP can be considered a classic. But I maintain that if you listen to it right now, the music is simply lacking…
September 6th, 2008 at 5:08 pm
Well Rigz, what that tells me is that there are a lot of albums that you don’t genuinely think are classic at all…but just consider so or it them so because you’ve seen a bunch of people say so on the internet…I mean it’s getting to the point where the word “classic” gets thrown around so casually and frequently that it doesn’t even mean anything anymore…
September 6th, 2008 at 5:13 pm
I mean if an album has so little impact on you that you haven’t had the urge to listen to it in years, and barely even remember that it exists at all…why do you consider it ‘classic’…if an album is largely forgotten about and has absolutely ZERO impact less than 10 years after it’s release, it’s not a classic
September 6th, 2008 at 5:15 pm
Eminem had some dope material back in the day. but it’s just not classic.
If you throw on something from the MMLP, you’ll probably feel some nostalgia and be like.. “yo, i used to think he was dope” or suh’n like that..
You play something like “Shook Ones pt. 2″.. or “The World is Yours”, or “Dead Presidents” (all CLASSIC material) vs. any track on the MMLP cd… and Em’s stuff just doesn’t hold up for whatever reason…

just because you don’t listen to something for 10 years doesn’t mean it had no impact. and impact doesn’t mean classic. Vanilla Ice made an impact… does that mean whatever his album was called is a classic?

That tells me your a fool…dont lump me in with whoever you’re chattin about
I aint listened to Exodus in a hot sec. That album’s better than any album hiphop has ever produced. Dont mean I have to listen to it all the time…I only pull it out the sash when I hear a track off it, which in turn reminds me how dope the LP is
I aint listened to no Ubiquity in a while…havent played Here My dear in a min…havent played Return to 36 Chambers all year…Cant remember the last time I played Hard To Earn all the way thru…Biz Goin Off was my fav album when I was younger, certified classic. I aint played it in ages…I could go on with this list forever…
Just because somethings classic, dont mean it has to be your favourite most played album for your whole life.
Thats nonsense. And you aint making no sense

When hood ass ninjas was sittin’ around in their basement bumpin’ a white rapper I knew that wigger was on to somethin’. Listen to it now? I don’t. But the argument is that many of what we deemed credible sources back then called it a classic (i.e. VH1, XXL, Source before Benzino got exposed, etc). Nobody in this day and time initially called C3 a classic, just an album that they thought was hot and that they really liked. Lets be real here… wasn’t no credible people back then tryin’ to give any white rapper THAT much credit back then unless he REALLY earned it.
>>when i saw this headline i thought wayne career just ended.lol
^Likewise. I’m like… I know he aint rapped in a while but lets not give him a reason outside of just based off his own merit. Especially with a 50 co-sign who would revel in destroyin’ Wang.
@ sleep… You wildin’ chief. I can bump Illmatic on a crisp, Fall day in the whip on blast and both the homies and honies will can’t help but to recognize. The only song that ARGUABLY sounds dated ,IMO, on there is the “New York City” joint, but it’s a great opener to an album. I still love that beat. But niggas will grill me in my city for drivin’ around with that on blast.

You play something like “Shook Ones pt. 2″.. or “The World is Yours”, or “Dead Presidents” (all CLASSIC material) vs. any track on the MMLP cd… and Em’s stuff just doesn’t hold up for whatever reason…
Go back and listen to “Role Model”

@ D. Billz
I’m not saying that they aren’t good songs. But as far as classic goes… shook ones takes the title hands down. imo

Scholar Says:
I mean if an album has so little impact on you that you haven’t had the urge to listen to it in years, and barely even remember that it exists at all…why do you consider it ‘classic’…if an album is largely forgotten about and has absolutely ZERO impact less than 10 years after it’s release, it’s not a classic.
Im 19 years old i have never listened to the Paid & Full album all the way through i bought a while ago still have it but i havent listen to the whole thing does that mean that that album isnt classic of course not it just means that im not a Rakim fan if you are a jay-nas fan then you probably listen to Kingdom Come or Nastradamus alot it doesnt mean that those are classics,90% of eminem fans are white but 99.9% of black hip hop listener respect em but arent “Stans” of him so for them who dont listen to eminem albums on the regular so that shouldnt take away from his work if eminem talked about Projects building shooting selling crack etc.. instead of trailer parks and alcoholics white people doesnt that count less as and therfore isnt “Classic” materials.

Eminem is the Sarah Palin of rap. Flash in a pan. Dude is decent. Can tell a good story. Is white and doesn’t try to be Black. Good guy.
Is nahright overrun with closet white supremacists or what? you fucks really like eminimen that much. he’s okay. his unashamed whiteness earns him points, but I would rather listen to Kid Rock be a cracker than emineme be talented white trash. in fact all you whites hiding on here need to come out and say you think your race is better. fucking termites.

As far as cat’s who helped push rap to the next level, Em is on the list. Feels like white kids in the burbs are the only people buying albums.
