Video: Ballad of the Little Hater
Jay Smooth says:
Topher asked me to describe my Little Hater, and Derek asked me to discuss beatboxing. But the beatboxing game is to be sold, not to be told.

the boot camp ninjas is doing exactly the right thing.
^^
True, but not really by choice tho, most rappers that discovered how lucrative independence was only found out by default because they got dropped off majors.
You have to keep in mind too, as much as cats want to be “artistes”, and make a shitload of money, fame and notoriety also play just as vital a role in cats wanting to rap for a living. Niggas want people to recognize them on the street, and that’s what majors will always have over indies.

I really dont get the Obama elitist argument…dude worked in impoverished communities for like $10k a year helping people of all races.
I bet Palin has ZERO friends of any non-white ethnicity. Except her husband who is part eskimo.

meanwhile rock bands are doing the indie thing and they’re caking.
^^^
Yeah, but Rock fans & Rap fans are completely different.
Rock fans buy CDs and treat them like collectables, even if they bootlegged them before
Rap fans…You already know
Rock fans dont care how old Mick Jagger is
Rap fans say LL is too old to rap (he’s only a year older than Jay btw)
Rock fans dont care if you NEVER drop an album. They’ll travel to see your live show & buy all your merchandise REGARDLESS
Rap fans call you wack if you been around a few years with no album & will never go to see you live
Rock fans listen to new shit, with little to no need for a cosign from another rock artist.
Rap fans wont give you a chance if Jay dont say your nice
I could go on with this list for hours…But I do see your point…

Me either, but look at who’s making it. Neo-cons are winning elections by convincing rednecks that they are the party of working class (even tho that has been the traditional democrat role since FDR), by playing on their fears and biases. As a matter of fact, that’s how the true elite has always stayed in power, making poor crackers think the black man (and others) are the enemy, when in fact all the misery can be traced bact to them (the true elites).

underground rap fans are closer to rock fans, but yeah what you said is true as far as mainstream and street rap is concerned.
