I’ma use my late pass on this one and get my Larry King on.

This beat is incredible: the little, dark drum line and the molten synths all over the place. Kanye’s pretty hot on this, with that Kobe number line headlining his verse; he gets bonus points for the board work. Jay knocks that can’t pay for school line out the stadium, but otherwise it’s substandard from him. Wayne a mess, and it’s barely hot; he almost had me with that opening scheme, but he didn’t go for patois when he could’ve, and I swear I heard him say “I dick guys” somewhere in the middle; bad decision to go for the Autotuner when Ye does that shit better than you do.

Clifford Harris fucking immolates this track, and not just because he’s the cleanup hitter. He’s at 11 the entire verse and ends it perfectly. Just a great verse, period.

Kanye starting off a song like this with a vocoder is a bad look altogether. Someone let him in on that.
I’m still waiting on people to wake up on just how terrible Wayne is on ANY track. I’m with 50 on this (the first and last time i ever am with 50 on anything) – i don’t get wayne’s mass appeal. He’s garbage. Carter III’s no classic. If you think it is- wow. just wow.
