   SMH @ “between 985 and 2007, there were 500 homicides”…that’s a 22 year period for an average of under 25 homicides a year, meaning roughly one murder every 2 weeks…a.k.a. not very dangerous….somebody failed math if they thought that stat was intimidating to anyone…

   not to mention when you look at the number of people who have probably lived there in that housing project over ***22 years***, probably 50,000 people, easily, since it’s such a huge complex. your odds of getting killed are 1 in a 1,000? sounds basically like, um, the murder rate everywhere else.

   shrug.

   lol @ my own math, make that 1 in 100…that is pretty bad…i guess i’d have see the number of people who lived in that housing project over 22 years…

   still there were some years that were probably WAY worse, like when crack first hit LA hard in the mid to late 80′s and gangbanging was heavy, they probably lost a person a day, whereas there were probably long lulls in violence as well…

   and why doesn’t anyone ever mention productive stats from places they rep? “yo, my hood has more GED’s than any other impoverished area!”

   Nickerson Gardens ain’t no joke! When you travel to South LA, you end up having a whole new perspective on gangbangin, especially if you are from the east coast!
