That background in this track makes it sound like that one song of Blueprint 2 (forgot the name). Hooks like “If you with us throw the diamond up one time…show out her backside!” I think I like this song. I dont even know anymore…peace nah, i’m out.

same here HHC…my moms was always with some James Brown, Motown, Earth Wind and Fire, Luther, Issac Hayes, Barry White, MicJac, etc etc.

But then she would also blast some Eagles, Bob Seger, Chicago, Micheal McDonald, Hall & Oates, Phil Collins, Eric Clapton, etc

and my Uncle had me on some Southern and Classic Rock like CCR, Lynard Skynard, ZZTop, The Doors, etc.

And then my bro was on that 80′s and 90′s R& B ish and most of the West Coast Hip hop.

I found out about Nas, Biggie, JayZ, Pun, Big L, Mobb Deep, and the 100′s more on my own.

@mtf yeah my hip hop education was pretty much solely due to rap city and listening to the radio late at night. dudes at my school were a bunch of rich jewish kids who were rocking kriss kross and vanilla ice and all that bullshit. illmatic was actually the first rap cd i ever bought and then i’d tape stretch and bobbito and go find those records the next day. good ol days man, i miss that shit. it was exciting.

Naw I had to be more quiet with my ish, blast it when my moms was gone or workin, but co-sign on bass that knocks shit off your dresser, darn Luke and Dj Magic Mike records.

1990 DJ Magic Mike – Bass is the Name of the Game (Cheetah)
1993 DJ Magic Mike – Bass The Final Frontier (Magic Records/CDG Inc.)
1993 DJ Magic Mike – This Is How It Should Be Done (Magic/CDG)

co-sign but it was harder in the Midwest to get that ish…esp the exclusives and mixtapes…we had to know somebody who lived in the NY to get that shit mailed to us…my homie Greg had a cousin that lived in NY, he would send us mixtapes, DJ Clue and whatnot.

but yeah radio at night, cause it had the best midnight hip hop mixes (radio all around was just better and more eclectic, than just 20 songs a day) and Rap City with Joe Clair and of course YO! with Ed and Dre.

I saw whose the man the other day…Dennis Leary is classic in that movie.
