    ^^^^ the reason why people focus so much on the 90′s shit (preferably the early-mid 90′s) is because that was the last time you couldn’t get away with the bullshit lyrics, when beef was “beef”, when just anybody couldn’t pick up the mic, etc. it’s about the fundamentals/rules/respect that’s lacking horribly nowadays…

    I would actually say that if you’re mad at the 90′s your, a 90′s baby. Its kids that were born in like 93 and 94 that are 14 and 15 right now, loving Rokko.

    I was born and ’83, so I was 10-14 during the “2nd golden age” (Cuban Linx, It was Written, Soul Food, etc etc), which IMO is the age range when you grow away from all parental influence of taste and become consumed by whatever your peers are consumed by.

    wanna know what my first rap CD (cause I already had cassette’s and my bro had some vinyl) was… my moms got it for me, it was 2pac’s Strictly For My N****z. Hella white dude with that album…ha. My mom didn’t know it was “explicit” and had curse words and adult language, etc even though there was a huge explicit lyrics label on the front and well the title!…ha.

    I was blasting that ish hella loud on day on the boombox and my mom comes bustin in like…

    My mom never had a problem with any of the music I played (I used to bang all my shit downstairs mad loud, but my moms cool as shit, i digress) except for two songs : “Hit Em Up” (she told me to never EVER play that shit in her house again!), and “Firm Fiasco” (Foxy’s verse was “filthy” although she didnt ban that song from the house).
