    good song =

    the voice and words of the artist carry the song, while the beat just makes a good backdrop. neither one completely overpowers the other but it the words should be slightly more catching to the ear in my opinion

    example: Budden’s “Ventilation” off MM3

    the beat isn’t bad, nor is it amazing. it’s just simplified beat that helps the lyrics stand out.

    am I making sense?
