Kanye to Produce Most of The Blueprint 3

Mick Boogie reveals some details about the direction of Jay’s final album for Def Jam, The Blueprint 3.
+ Kanye will indeed be producing most, if not all, of the album. Remember back in the day when an artist would do a whole album with one producer for cohesiveness? Think classic Snoop or Jeru with Primo… and fast forward it to 2008.
+ Jay will be leaking the finished version of “Jockin” as soon as he adds a new 3rd verse to the song.
+ Tracks to look for include the aforementioned “Jockin’ Jay-Z” and a new track entitled “Victory” that the rumor mill says is simply amazing.
This would have been amazing 4 years ago, but I think now it’s going to be just straight up epic.

I’m not going to get my hopes up. I feel like Kanye’s production was at it’s high with Late Registration. Hopefully jay-z just makes a dope album and not try and cater to everybody you know 2club songs,2street songs, etc,,etc

August 10th, 2008 at 1:50 pm
amazing, though Jay always changes his mind and gets in other producers when it comes crunch time. remember when the black album was supposed to be one beat by 12 of the best producers and he was going to write his lyrics down?
separately -is anyone having problems using zshare? for the people in the UK - rumour is that BT and other ISPs have blocked access to it. anyone finding this?
August 10th, 2008 at 1:53 pm
booo….Just Blaze would have been much better….Toomp would have been much better….

August 10th, 2008 at 2:07 pm
on top of that…jay needs some legitimate features….if these albums won’t be remembered anyway, why not give some other niggas a chance
August 10th, 2008 at 2:19 pm
It don’t matter, Jay will make another classic with this. Eventually I would like to see him release a few 4 or 5 song EP’s with sole production from Primo, Timbo, Just Blaze, Pharrell and Dr. Dre….
August 10th, 2008 at 2:23 pm
kanye on the beats … its going to be great … i hope
August 10th, 2008 at 2:25 pm
Who’s actually made Hov work on a track lately to not get outshined?
I think Kanye brought out the best in him on the diamonds remix, obviously he brings his A game on Nas collabs, but who else is really challenging him like that? Don’t say wayne please…
August 10th, 2008 at 2:27 pm
everybody is hatin on jay already i see where this is goin and it makes it such a classy album gotta love the retro

nobody wants to hear DJ Premier
nigga had the same sound since like 1990
I wanna hear the same beat over and over I’ll cop a Swizz Beatz instrumental mixtape

i wouldnt mind hearing jay and sauce money on a track together again going back and forth.

Couldn’t said it better myself. Sometimes I feel like Hov is just going through the motions. It’s like “What More Can I Say” is his anthem right now. Sure he’s still shittin on most of the current gen but its not like that is hard to do. Jay just needs somebody that can get on his heels to make him wanna give it 100% Furthermore, Hovi’s business acumen seems to be a detriment to his artistry. Reasonable Doubt was before he was exposed to “The Biz” and there is clearly a difference as time went on. I guess its just me, but sometimes I just want that old thing back.
Either way I’m a fan for life it seems and will cop it as I did all of the other albums. Yeezy needs to do Grade A production, and jay needs to deliver at least HIS GRADE B+ self( Its no way, he will ever go as deep as he did on RD *sighs*) and I’m sure the album will be MAJOR!
August 10th, 2008 at 2:51 pm
first a kanye whole album
then a just blaze whole album
and after a timbo whole album…
maybe primo one day but ???
and dr dre in this shit ?
yeahhh… roc nation deal !!
so jayz needs new albums… in the futur
so i say great ish
peace
August 10th, 2008 at 2:54 pm
yeah primo has his own touch
his style is the same but i think he can make big big shit
different… if he has the challenge for that LIKE a whole nas album
look with christina aguilera, his work ain’t hiphop and so sound different
so he can do other shit but in the game when people call primo
it’s for a primo touch so ????
but top TEN producer ! still
peace

I don’t know how this is gonna turn out. Kanye gave Common a bunch of garbage beats on Finding Forever and Jay’s rapping has been far from impressive these past few years.
But hopefully Blueprint 3 will be better than Untitled!

The beats on Be were great too. The fact that its going to be produced solely by Ye is the exciting part, give it that kind of sonical cohesiveness that an album like Kingdom was lacking. Thats what creates classics.
KC was a load of Dre beat tapes, above average just blaze and odd beats by random nobodies. There was no input by someone creative like kanye, i mean come on you’ve seen those studio scenes in fade to black, guy has passion for the music!

Should the creation of “Blueprint 3″ be documented like “The Black Album” or would that take away from “Fade To Black”?
August 10th, 2008 at 3:51 pm
>> Should the creation of “Blueprint 3″ be documented like “The Black Album” or would that take away from “Fade To Black”?
nah, nothing can take away from Fade To Black… at least at this point. if anything, Kingdom Come or going on tour with Mary did. it’s in their best interest to put out this DVD otherwise I’ll have no other choice but to leak the footage I’ll have from Roc The Mic Studios
August 10th, 2008 at 4:02 pm
You’re getting “Roc The Mic footage”? [Studio or concert?]
Specific’s please?

incredible? epic? THIS WILL BE THE GREATEST FOCKING ALBUM EVER U DICKHEADS
back in to the timbo rumor post, i was saying instead of timmy either just or ye should do it
HE LISTENED TO ME MUTHAFUCKAAAS
on a side note, i just started watching fade to black last night…shit is awesome. so i agree they should film his reactions when hearing the ye beats…altho the album is probably halfway done if we are just finding out now. his reactions are hilarious, its like he has the disgusted look on his face…but thats not enough. if its a great beat, he stands up and while everyone watches his head starts to whiplash still with that look on his face from the gif where he looks like a turtle in those giant glasses behind ricky gervais.

at least we all know if this doesn’t show up on kanyes blog its most likely true. All rumors that do show up on his blog are usually extinguishing them rather than promoting them. Agreed with eskay this could be epic!

of course you all know jay’s every move. u guys listen to hip-hop. u all know whats best nahright?

August 10th, 2008 at 7:20 pm
How can you say Preemo beats sound the same since 1990, that sounds like someone who does absolutely no research on Premiers beats homefries. Dude is a legend for a reason. If it weren’t for him do you really think people would even remember who Group Home was? And for that matter lets not kid ourselves Guru really isn’t a lyricist. He had a great voice that sounded nice over preemo’s tracks. And I digress because I really wanted to say the next album will more than be a classic banger. Hate all y’all want Jay IS STILL THAT DUDE. Y’all listen to his music but do you hear it?
August 10th, 2008 at 7:59 pm

August 11th, 2008 at 9:24 am
Jay-Z this, Kanye that. Preemo this, Timbo that. Dr. Dre this, Just Blaze that. You guys need to understand something. Everything that Jay has done has been superb. Qutie granted some efforts were not as good as others, but don’t get it twisted, son gets busy. American Gangster is one of the best albums Jay has put out to date, second in my opinion only to Reasonable Doubt. And his cameo’s have been pretty much flawless thus far. You little ingrates should be salivating at the mouths (no homo) waiting for this shit to drop.
BP3 Lets Get It!!!
August 11th, 2008 at 10:46 am
It might turn out to be a classic. Kingdom Come was aight and American Gangster was good. Hopefully this is a classic album. He has said he wants to drop on the same date as the new Em album though and that is right around the corner. I don’t give a fuck who he teams with though, he won’t have shit for a classic Em album, in this case King Mathers. But if any commercial artist is going to create an event pitting their album against Em’s it should be Jay. The fall/winter is gonna be sick.

Peeps asking if the Blueprint 3 album is gonna be documented like “The Black Album”, nah its not.
But I hear Hova IS going to have a dvd for the album but do something different.
He’s gonna get Director Hugo V to film a music video for every track on the album, some big budget, some more humble. Kinda like a continuing story line. That will be a dope DVD.
Also, although theres rumors that Timbo is getting involved, word has it that its a Kanye project only!!!
Either way the project is gonna be benannas!!!
