Video: KanYe West Brings Out Jay-Z @ MSG

Blueprint 3.

Audio: Jay-Z - Jocking Jay-Z (Produced by Kanye West)

Props to Derek for the rip.

Bonus: The pristine footage captured above indicates that I’ll be needing to get my hands on that GiTDvD. But if you’re curious about the crowd reaction of people who just sat scram through the experience of their lives, hit the jump to hear New York City go batshit crazy.

I own Madison Square, catch me at the fight

Yes. I realize that I may be “buggin’”. I’m listening to it now and like it a little better but I still need the CDQ version to make a final verdict.

Not feeling the song too tuff. My jay stannizm is dying by the minutes. Aint I was wack juice also, I erased it off the ipod yesterday. I don’t want jay to retire, or come with a gimmicky angle to surprise the fans, I really don’t know what I wanna hear from jay now.

Co-sign. But this joint (from the minute that I heard) sounds dope. Nothing earth shattering, but neither was “Roc Boys” really. I let go of my Jay-Z stannism awhile ago. His comeback from retirement made him mortal, but it also makes it easier to listen to his new songs without always comparing them to his older, better shit.

    ^ ^ ^———————————————————
    I did say “I think”, didn’t I?

It was a hypothesis based on how Nas’, being a good artist, releasing a great piece of controversial material but not getting the “buzz” expected.

While Jay on the other hand starts an internet frenzy when even whispers about him releasing an album hits the net.

Not to mention the scrutiny he’s subject to, seeing as he is one of the greatest of all time and is for the most part compared only to his previous work [Classics].

  64. G7 Says:

i wonder if this jay album will be an in between of kingdom come and american gangster. also interested to hear what he’s gonna be rapping about.

in regards to most talked about albums, i’m surprised how fast the chats about Carter 3 died considering how well it sold. i never thought Untitled would be getting more convo than C3.

    *morning daps all*

  65. Joe 88 Says:

I still like roc boys (n/h), jay always sounded good over horns (check the song off DJ envy album) as he calls it “super hero music”. Yeah his return made him mortal, not because he lost a step lyrically, but he kinda lost touch with what was going on, I guess he thought things wouldn’t change without him around. He’s still dope tho.

  66. RIGZ Says:

    See thats where we’re different

I think Nas’ buzz was crazy. I know ALOT of people that bought his CD & havent stopped playing it since

But beyond that, its very well documented that Jay has the most devoted Stannibals of all time (Andre is close second)

  67. Joe 88 Says:

  72. Digital Scales Says:

does jayz really have to put out an album every year??

i mean sombody with his stature, i think it would be dope if we didnt hear an album from jay for 2 3 more years…

^Yeah, of living artist, cause we all know who has the most devoted stans *ahem*2pac*ah cough*

My thoughts on the carter 3

Carter 3 = seeing your favorite street baller make it to the league. You became a fan off of his street ball skills (in wayne case mixtapes) so when you see your fav street baller play organized basketball, your like “wtf?” nigga you better spin on ya head or some shit, just like with wayne album, on the mixtape he didn’t need to have direction, he could do whatever he wanted, show off his creativity, flow, etc, but on a album he had to come up with topics, a pattern on which the album would follow, etc, & that’s why it was wack, we’re use to hearing wayne just go off, so when he had all those songs about bitches, & lollipops, his mixtapes fans are like what’s this? And it was wack to top it off

  76. PHENOMENON Says:

I think the subject matter of “Kingdom Come” was pretty much a catch 22.

Rhyme about the same things I rhymed about previously. . .

RESPONSE: “That ain’t your life now n*gga!!”

Rhyme about things that are true to my life at the present time. . .

RESPONSE: “Hov went soft. / I can’t relate.”

  77. b-ease Says:

    @Phenom

Naw, Jay couldve pulled off the subject matter. The problem was simply that the rhymes and (especially) the production, werent up to his usual standard.

  78. Joe 88 Says:

C3 is still getting discussed…just probably by nobody over 16.

^Yep, the dude spd or whatever was tryna call me old cause I said C3 was wack juice, & i’m younger than wayne, lol, kids these days.

  79. Joe 88 Says:

Jay-Z should just do mixtapes, those shits would be bananas, remember the S.Collection mixtape he dropped in 04′, classic

man this aint no hand gun, this shit can sink a boat (what boat?) anyone in thee atlantic, the S.S, the titanic, send destress signals, like poof, red flares don’t matter to me

  80. PHENOMENON Says:

When a person has a significant number of “Stans” it’s probably with good reason.

**Although this Lil’ Wayne phenomena does kind of poke a hole in my logic. [ll]? [Not that he’s whack.]

^We know why he was hot. Smh @ ghost writin’. Speakin’ of Yeeeeah Baby, I was just thinkin’ about somethin’ the other day:

This is gonna sound weird/crazy, but it was becaue of Big Pun that I could fully understand what a Puerto Rican or “boricua” was because of that 100% video. Prior to that video, I was so unaware because I didn’t grow up around any Hispanics and it was never any need to know about them (or so I thought). I used to see what people called “Puerto Rican” and just though they were mixed/mulatto (I hate the latter term because of its origin). After Yeeeah Baby I started doing my homework and really doing the knowledge on Latin Caribbean culture. Didn’t know Angie Mar was PR either until I saw her in the video. That’s when I went back and listened to “Hidden Hands” on the Don Cartagena album with a totally different mindset. Like, 6 Latino ninjas rocked that shit verse for verse. Unheard of up until then. But yeah, Pun’s celebration of his culture educated the kid. I don’t know if that’s good or bad that a rapper enlightened me a Afro-Latin culture, but hey… it is what it is.

PORTLAND, Ore. - A New York man who pleaded guilty to murder in Oregon in exchange for buckets of fried chicken will get calzones and pizza to go with his life sentence.

Tremayne Durham, 33, of New York City, admitted last month that he fatally shot Adam Calbreath, 39, of Gresham, in June 2006. Durham wanted to sell ice cream and ordered an $18,000 truck from an Oregon company. He later changed his mind, but the company wouldn’t provide a refund.

The would-be ice cream man came to Oregon and killed Calbreath, a former employee of the company, while looking for its owner, authorities said.

Durham agreed to plead guilty to murder — but only if he could get a break from jail food. The judge agreed and granted Durham a feast of KFC chicken, Popeye’s chicken, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, carrot cake and ice cream.

After Wednesday’s sentencing, Durham was to get the rest of the deal — calzones, lasagna, pizza and ice cream, his defense attorney confirmed. They will pay the tab.

Durham also got married Wednesday in a civil ceremony at the Portland courthouse. The wedding to Vanessa Davis, 48, also of New York City, was not part of the plea deal that will give Durham a chance for parole after 30 years.
