Yeah my dad was a blues aficianado and has been to a lot of blues concerts and forced me to listen to it when I was growing up, and I couldn’t stand it…..He always told me that the blues will never let go of me on some Pact with the devil type ish….and I must say he is right till this day….

it’s a shame that black people, myself included, have pretty much abandoned the blues and jazz…I listen to Miles and Thelonious Monk, though, but besides those two, my collection is pretty thin..Middle aged White people LOVE BB King, Bobby Blue Bland, and Buddy Guy (Shawnna’s father)….

I’ve been to two BB King concerts in the last 2 years. (I’m White) and there were hardly any black people there if at all.

Yeah its a shame black folks don’t show up to blues concerts anymore…..to me that’s the best music period….It was rap before rap became rap…..the music was banned they talked about hoes and bitches and you could barely understand their slang…..but BB king is loved by a lot of white people so I’m not surprised.

Buddy guy might be one of the GOAT blues performers….he plays with such passion and gets the crowd into it….and he doesn’t have to reduce his blackness by a large amount to keep it safe…..

But Lil milton was that thang in his day too…..John Lee hooker, blind willie mctell with his 12 strang guitar…..You got Son House which is one of the goats and kept the robert johnson story going……Muddy waters was also a goat…..King charley cotton was an oldschool Goat…..Dr. John from New orleans puts it down too….that nathan lang kid he can get down a lil bit also…buddy guy has performed and done some songs with him.

Buddy guy’s last album had too much of a newschool flavor to it though….
