    Stern Sidekick Lange Checks Into Rehab
    6 August 2008 9:06 AM, PDT

    Shock jock Howard Stern’s radio sidekick Artie Lange has checked into rehab to be treated for drug and alcohol abuse, according to reports.

    The 40-year-old comedian admitted himself into an intensive outpatient rehabilitation programme at the weekend (begs02Aug08), his spokesperson Lewis Kay has confirmed.

    Lange cancelled a series of stand-up shows and appearances, including his pal Bob Saget’s Comedy Central Roast on Sunday, to seek treatment.

    A source tells the New York Post that Stern’s sidekick “felt awful for not being there for Bob, but needed to make his health a priority”.

    Lange reportedly plans to return to Stern’s Sirius radio show following treatment.
