A few people at the bar and vip section I was in was like “What is a Maino”. The bartender said to this broad, “The guy performing I think”. She later said “Oh someone was performing?”

It was dope. Nas did his thing. Ghostface and Rae were my favorite part. Rakim was dressed like Soulja Boy but he did his thing. Pharcyde and Mos Def surprised me, I like their sets.

***the crowd was diggin his verse, but as you know, it was mad short (none)- the secret to rocking a DC crowd is to break out the congos, and the Roots did that, so it was all good…Actually, I’m a Wale fan, and I would have liked for him to have showcased a couple of his songs- at least that “do you think I’m crazy” jawn…the Roots had some corny guitar nigga that I guess I was supposed to have recognized, but didn’t- they gave duke like 10 minutes of solo time (never)- they coulda extended the same courtesy to Wale in his hometown, but w/e, w/e…
