Video: A Tribe Called Quest @ Rock The Bells
This is classic material right here kids. Tribe’s first New York performance in in 11 years.
I gotta tell you man, for a second there I though they were trying to pull a fast one on us with this Tribe set. Because it actually started out with just Q-Tip onstage doing some Tribe album verses and a couple of his solo joints with Mos Def as a hypeman. I felt like maybe they tried to bill it as a Tribe performance when it was actually a just a commercial for Tip’s solo project. I was all ready to go home and air a bunch of people out for exploiting Phife’s name. Don’t get me wrong, Q-Tip is that dude, but I’m not really interested in seeing him perform any of his solo shit except maybe Vivrant Thing.
Anyway, my aggravation turned out be premature because Phife and Jarobi ended up making a grand entrance after a short DJ Scratch intermission. Needless to say, I lost my fucking noodle. As you may know, the Five Footer’s health hasn’t been great in recent years, and he’s rarely seen in public these days, so it was really beautiful to see him onstage performing like he was 19 again.
Left field: One of the greatest moments in my short but illustrious career as the Greatest Blogger Alive came when I got to meet Phife’s mom at Brooklyn Bodega’s ATCQ panel at Powerhouse Books during last year’s Hip-Hop Honors week. She was really sweet and appreciative of all the love everybody was showing her son, and she complimented me on the Tribe t-shirt I was wearing. That was awesome.

If you are cooking some vegetables, fry some bacon and cook the vegetables in the bacon grease or go to a amish owned meat market and get some Fat back and cook the vegetables in that…..It taste extra good
Seasonings you need to use at all times…
1. Old bay
2. Tony’s seasoning salt

LATEST: BERNIE MAC is still alive and recovering in hospital from a bout of pneumonia, contrary to false stories stating he had died.
The comedy star’s publicist confirmed on Friday (01Au08) that MAC was being treated for the deadly illness at a clinic in his native Chicago, Illinois.
The media has since been inundated with stories claiming the 50-year-old Ocean’s Eleven star – real name Bernard Jeffery MCCollough – had passed away.
But Danica Smith insists, “Bernie MAC is still alive and being treated in a Chicago hospital for pneumonia and is expected to make a full recovery.
“We once again ask that the press respect his privacy and that of his family.
“Mr. MAC is responding well to treatment and will be released soon. He asked that his privacy and that of his family is respected while he gets well.”

Grand Theft Auto IV is one of the most popular video games of 2008. However a lot of controversy has been surrounding the game due to its content. MADD, Mother Against Drunk Driving, recently spoke out about the drunk driving content of the game soon after it launched earlier this year.
Reuters is reporting today that a Thai video game distributor has pulled the Grand Theft Auto IV off the shelves after a teenager confessed to robbing and killing a taxi driver in an attempt to recreate a scene from the video game.
“We are sending out requests today to outlets and shops to pull the games off their shelves and we will replace them with other games,” Sakchai Chotikachinda of New Era Interactive Media, told Reuters.
After further investigation, Police said the teenager, a big fan of Grand Theft Auto, showed no signs of mental problems and had confessed to committing the murder of the taxi driver because of the video game.
The teenager said that he did not mean to kill the taxi driver but wanted to see how easy it was recreate a scene from the game and stabbed the driver to death when fought back.

Pocket Shot created the “Shot In The Pouch” spirits beverage category in 2000 with the introduction of a line of Pocket Shot top shelf spirits. Now adults with an active lifestyle have a brand new way to enjoy their favorite hard liquor, in a safe, environmentally-friendly way. Consumer’s no longer have to carry full size bottles, or small, breakable glass miniature bottles when they go out. Now you can have it one shot at a time, any place, anywhere.
