Paris, Tokyo may just be the worst track on The Cool. It’s hard to decide with so many choices.
The thing that kept flashing through my mind every time I hit fast-forward was Lupe’s asinine statements about not growing up listening to Tribe… Paris, Tokyo is a jazzy hiphop tune, but w/o any of the rawness or true thump of a Tribe track. I cant help but think of it as a half-assed tribute to Tribe’s style.
Now, I see Q-tip hopped on board (?) and it just adds a new level of retardation to the already high levels of retardation.
