The reason Nicholson and Ledger were 2 different types of Batman..because their characters were based on 2 different Batman comic book series…Ledgers being based off of Frank Millers Batman:the Dark knight returns, which is a darker look at the Batman character and his villians…Nicholsons was based on the traditional more “lighthearted” Batman Comicbooks

This is the truth, Ledger only built off of what Jack put down, just like Jack built off of Ceasar Romero from the old Batman.

Darth Cipher, it was supposed to have a cartoonish element to it, this particular Batman was for all ages, the Dark Knight is themed toward a more mature audience, much like the comics.

i know who Heath got the main blueprint for Joker, but my point is, he completely changed the face of Joker in the way the comics had originally wanted Joker to be, something no one has ever done.
