Promotional stunt or not what does it matter. Fox news is ass, might as well call them out and benefit from the publicity from it as opposed to generating publicity off corny shit like beef/arrests/dissing other rappers. It’s like killing to birds with one stone.
Or maybe Nas genuinely dislikes the tactics of Fox News and decided to take a stand for his beliefs? Nas never asked for anyone to film him doing this. He’s taking actions for what he believes in, which is a lot more than a bunch of other artists/black “leaders”/niggas on Nah ever do.
yo nation that demagogue was some ill shit. Interesting discussion of the album itself, and the larger issue of these rappers promoting themselves as social captains of african americans.
I’ve always advanced the argument that MCs fulfill a social role like that of mythographic storytellers (e.g. homer; vergil; aesop; mark twain; blues musicians; 2pac) who seek cultural expression through poetry, but the breadth of that role is limited. son at straight bangin, through his discussion of nas’s failure to be a “social captain” really encapsulates the limit which restricts a MC as Storyteller paradigm
yo im real proud of nas like black people always talk bout this shit and kno he doin summin bout it and he made it avaible to the masses wit his cd which i think is a classic… stop hating on him 2 like he doin summin 4 black people support it

Nas has an album to sell. haha.
It’s still better for it to happen now than for it to have never happened at all. Nas should get Immortal Technique on board.

That’s right, Nas. Call those snakes out on that racist bull they call news. They will bleed from the eyes when Barack Obama is elected.
