Tupac was too smart for most people on here. So, it is no surprise he gets no love on Nahright.
I remember Marvin Gaye, used to sing ta me
He had me feelin like black was tha thing to be
And suddenly tha ghetto didn’t seem so tough
And though we had it rough, we always had enough
I huffed and puffed about my curfew and broke the rules
Ran with the local crew, and had a smoke or two
And I realize momma really paid the price
She nearly gave her life, to raise me right
And all I had ta give her was my pipe dream
Of how I’d rock the mic, and make it to tha bright screen
I’m tryin to make a dollar out of fifteen cents
It’s hard to be legit and still pay tha rent
And in the end it seems I’m headin for tha pen
I try and find my friends, but they’re blowin in the wind
Last night my buddy lost his whole family
It’s gonna take the man in me to conquer this insanity
It seems tha rain’ll never let up
I try to keep my head up, and still keep from gettin wet up
You know it’s funny when it rains it pours
They got money for wars, but can’t feed the poor
Say there ain’t no hope for the youth and the truth is
it ain’t no hope for tha future

is anyone else starting to notice theres an upswing of revolutionary music begining to balance out the culture. The giant has been laying dormantfor years but now I feel a movment has been sparked. Its been bubbling for some time and now its surfacing. If anyone is questioning the direction of Hip Hop, yea that hipster shit is making its rounds, but best believe we are in for some real political gangsta gangsta marxist shit.

… yeah, but its usually the same people … and they still dont get any real national attention … if it wasnt for nahright and the other internet outlets, no one would hear of them … Bammas are still getting all the attention and sales …
July 11th, 2008 at 9:07 am
lets be real tho, you’re gonna become a rapper to start up a revolution?
you cant walk into a room, talk that hate shit, then walk out the room and expect people to walk with you….
even if you spit the truth, what have you Done first, then talk to me about that, and talk to me how to become a part of it…
dont say we need to do this and we need to do that…you need to do this you need to do that….
i think alot of this militant shit is fake, maybe some really do want a change, but rather talk about it on wax, like hip hop is still that strong voice

^…check it, the prediction is as momentum is building, these niggas are necessary to push the barrel over the hill. They will get more involved musically and that will be the added push. Not that they’re not involved now, but timing is everything. Right now they are unheard.
This is prophecy

^good point digi, of course be real with yours, if that isnt your core, then no spit whats in your heart. If its real its gonna be felt anyway. But for some people who are not in that chamber, they need to hear shit that feeds their souls. Shit that makes them want to unify and build communities. No I dont expect rappers to be our voice our saviours I can do that myself. But a little inspiration never hurt nothing or knowing people have the same view.

“Cos its trendy to be the the conscious MC, but who knows next year what we’ll see…”
People need to stop sleeping on Streets Disciple. Nas dropped alot of jewels on that shit…half the shit he said happened this year
“…Rappers battling non-rappers, carrying on backwards
Laughing saying Nas thinks he Farrakhan preaching blackness
Hell yeah, awareness is my alias…”

^what up Land, … those Bammas are instrumental and necessary. Without them Hip Hop wouldnt have been brought to its knees. It needed to be destroyed analyzed now rebuilt.

^yea pretty much, I get what your saying its not as exciting because of the availability makes sense. That nostalgic feeling of the old we all miss. We are facing a crisis now with the World that needs to be addressed through music. For niggas who made it through that era of reckless gun and pussy talk. The niggas who done had seeds and see life for what it truely is, we are looking at life through a different lense. Thats why niggas get weeded out on Nah and shitted on if all you’re bringing is some happy go lucky hipster shit. The majority of niggas on Nah aint gelling well with that movement.
