This album is a lyrical master piece, i really thought music like this was extinct….this is a great time for HIP HOP HEAD’S, word up! Even though their will be a bias opinion on this album because of the content, it still reeks of classical material and time will and always is the deciding factor on whether or not an album is a classic. With that said an album like this has never been done and if it has this albums expertise makes any othe not relevant. Nas coming out with somthing like in 2008 in unprecedented.

LF: All this week, everyday, i’ve been having this crazy dream that I bump into this dude that I got beef with, every night, but in different situations, the one yesterday was the most vivid, the dream started off with me finding out that the nig I got beef with moved on my block, so I instantly confronted him, I hit em over the head with 2 alley bottles, (cause I don’t fight fair in real life) knocking him out, I left em there leaking. Also, I’m a lil concerned about the state of the contest it’s self, considering we still don’t know when the deadline is, and I’ think I’ve only seen one fan response so far. What happens if only one fan posts, or if only people who submit post…each would vote for thier own shit I imagine. And for those who spit more than 16, are they being judged on there best 16 or the whole song? These are just some things I’m, and maybe others are, curious about.

Were you actually entering the contest, or just dissin for attention or what?You said you don’t have hatred for him or his hustle, and that you wrote that to stand out among the competition. If your real intent was to stand out and try to win, your efforts should have been put towards writing some really dope shit, as well as making sure the delivery is on point. I see you have a lot to say as well, but it sounded more like a freestyle than something you took our time with. I would suggest taking those vrs and cutting them into one really good vrs. Learn it well and re spit it.

—-> spirit equality - It sounds like you got some good lyrics, but I can hardly hear the beat, so I don’t really know how you sound…or flow over it. I think it’s cool you choose to do the video format, but I think it’s working against you at the moment. If you can, re spit that over just the audio. Also, it looks like you were reading off what you prob just wrote. If that is the case you might want to try to memorize your vrs first and then spit it. You’ll sound a lot more confident on it for sure.

At least back in the day you got stomped at worse… There are plenty of mc’s whose music I can’t stand, but i respect their hustle and I don’t hate them as people. It’s like you HAVE to like every mc out there these days…and that’s bullshit! I’ve met plenty of other musicians in other genres who don’t take things so personally, especially critiques. But then again, there are just as many of us who don’t know how to critique, and think that dissin’ someone qualifies for that. “Your shit is whack” is not a critique, but people prefer that than something like ” your style isn’t my thing”, which isn’t a critique, but is still less offensive then the first statement. And nobody likes to be offended, I don’t care who you are.

People are gonna have to change their mind set before any kinda real advancements can be made. We could talk about this all day but it always seems like it falls on def ears…

I write alot…I write for myself and others…if you can’t reconize talent and real feelings, than this competition isnt doing what its suppose to or at least what you wanted it too…for everyone else my verse was not directed at NYOIL at all…why would I get on a beat to diss the other person on the hook…no matter how bad i think the hook is…the fact that i got on the song should mean more than my orginal thought and response…this comp wasnt about just the song at all, but rather how you approached it and how you worked on it… In fact I still had space for a third verse…so who knows…maybe i will finish what I started, seeing how NYOIL has put a little fire under me…now I feel like pulling out the pen and the pad…

Props to BigGunn for listening to everyones submission…you are actually one of the only person here I think cares at all…

NYOIL can we get just the beat without the hook on it..see what we can do with it without being boxed in…

Thanks for clearing that up. There is nothing wrong with you, or anyone else for that matter, stating an opinion. Nah right and NYOIL did ask for our opinions, which is exactly what you gave, and so did everyone else, but that’s as far as the similarities go. If I’d known that was your soul purpose I would not have attempted to critique your work, because as you said it’s not an entry. It wasn’t put together to be part of the competition, and I’m only critiquing those works that were put up looking for feedback, weather from NYOIL or anyone else.

As for your last sentence I’m not sure what you mean by it. You don’t have to explain it if you don’t want to, I just don’t know any other ways to build…

a few thoughts..

Spirit Equality- not bad, didnt sound quit tight on the beat, maybe that was due more to the recording being played in the background though. The verse and your delivery seemed a bit rushed. reading off appear is cool, but it felt almost like you were seeing it for the first time

The Advakit- love your voice, distinctive sound, you obviously know what you are doing, would like to hear more from you. tight verse, seemed a but like you could work on some breathing techniques to control, your breath and spit a little better, but really nice work

And the Winner Is- nice relaxed flow

Bigg Gunn- Tight verse, good added production elements to the track

Laws- decent flow, you had some nice metaphors in there

Master3- clean voice

Nanyanen- lol @ you beefing. odd angle to go for, but hey do you, would like to hear you over a different beat, this one didnt quite fit your voice & delivery style

Nato Caliph- ill all the way around, great voice, reminded me a but of big rube, content & metaphors totally onpoint and clever at that. a good look all around

Relyk 5000- nice effort, but it seems you could use a bot more oractice in the booth tightening up verses and learning beats and how to make everything all fit together. You had alot today and were damn sure going to say it all.. even if the words didnt all fit. you seemed to say “suck my dick” alot, nothing wring with that, but when you close out every verse with it, it loses impact. you seem young, but hungry so keep going or it

Stephen King- verse felt a bit rushed, liked that other track (the rock sounding one) better

Uptown Swuite- real nice natural flow, good cadance and delivery, last verse felt rushed

My vote goes to Nato Caliph. The Advakit & and The Winner Is round out my top three

Here’s my opinion (It matters the most)

This Kardi kid is a problem…..He has more talent than anyone here…..Being that he is new school and able to rock a fresh beat that mirrors the party days, which is now the in thing…..But Nigga you sound like a nigga who pops red bubblegum in class and eat lunchables…put some bass in your voice, and get in a fight or two at school you kind of timid.

For one I would like to say I have never entered a contest like this….I only just relized that getting feedback from other commenters was as much as I was really gonna get out of it…. So thank you to anyone who took time to listen…

Big Gunn- Ol Robot humpty dumpty 1991 sounding ass nigga, but that was hot….I listened to that one a few times…You killed it though that was one of the best….But that intro almost made me turn it off with that baby mama’s line…..I thought this was gonna be some herb ass shit…..But you had an original flow and got better at the end..

Cash- When I first heard your voice I thought it was some ol mexican chingo bling ass nigga….But You prolly had the best lyrics cause it actually was opposite of NYOIL….But you need to put some bass in your voice fam, and come harder with the accents and flow…Sounding like you ate some marshmallows and shit breathing all cot damn hard on the mike….but still best lyrics and on point.

Nice energy, a lil choppy though.

Wise- LOL, whooo…..that was hot….especially when you said lean snap pop call it kickin….them bars was hot fam….Nigga look like a broke version of dwayne wade….The swag was all over the rhyme dog….That’s most important…All the rest of these niggas rap, but you styled up which makes the lyrics shines brighter….Definitely top 3….You sounded like you had peanut butter in your mouth oh mush mouth ass nigga. Wise and Uptown were the best I have heard…….aka royce and D-wade…….others were okay…but these two dudes obviously bring a lil more to the table than just spitting out words…

These cats are like painters and pay attention to detail…they accent here, drop their voice down there, they pause here, they get higher there…all the other detail stuff that goes along with rapping…..they are craftsmen with the lyrics…

SMH at this dude laws waiting on my review for him. I must have missed his upload and didn’t review him. After I reviewed what I thought was all the entries, he was like “eh…I’ll repost mine again”……LOL…..I waited like 2 days to review his entry just to play chess and see how he was going to respond…..After I posted my review this nigga responded like 30 minutes later, LMAO…..I’m like this dude was refreshing his computer every 5 minutes to see what I was going to say about his entry…..Shit was madd funny.

But It was alot of nice cats on here that could spit….The reason why I chose to review the way I did was to provide some realness and entertainment…What fun would It have been if I just said a bunch of declarative statements that are mad boring…I didn’t mean to offend most people….Some people I hope were offended because of their wack ass raps….But I thought the competition was pretty good….

I was surprised at how most cats took it in good fun….Thats what it was about….harsh but fun all rolled into one…Like Big gunn said it was sweet and sour….It was basically the love/hate review….NO Im NOT a rapper, I can’t spit but I know what sounds good….

People respect criticism more than they like something…..this is what I have come to find out over the years….Big difference between respect and like….People will like you better if you are real and upfront rather than just a likable cat…..So I say this to say…..If you got any other pieces of music that you want to hear the HONEST truth….send me those joints at scrzap@gmail.com….and I’ll give you a review to determine if its hot or not or what you need to work on…..Hey its free criticism and you can’t beat that.
