Like Ive said time and time again, what all yall are doing is no different than your mom and pops saying hiphop isnt real music. Everybody has their version of music they identified with when they were young. When what you liked changes in the mainstream, you end up complaining about how wack everything is because you dont understand this "new" music/trend whatever. Im not saying the "hipster" thing doesnt have alot of fronters, but there are some kids with spit to 'em in the category. The cycle continues. It is what it is. Everybody got a a$$#ole. Add my novel to the nahright shelf.

Aint no body aggy, I just disagree with you. I dont put niggas in boxes (especially artists who I respect). Youd have a hard time finding a box to fit Nas, Pac, Big, Jay, Ye, Black Thought, etc in. Thats the point. If you defining conscious rap as conscious of the world at large, that umbrella is just too fucking big to mean anything. Its only a handful of MCs that DONT fit into that category.

I see where you coming from though.

That’s like saying Jay-z is only a party rapper with Jigga my nigga, big pimpin and give it to me…..
^
Im not the nigga labeling artists “only conscious” or ” only hipster” Thats YOU. You didnt offer any support to your argument. Im just disproving a point that you didnt even make well. Im still waiting to hear how is Kanye a conscious artist… Stop putting niggaz in boxes.

You give artists too much credit on this fashion shit. Niggaz start getting their grown man on cuz of Ye?!? Fuck outta here. Hiphop is getting older just like hiphop heads. Its called Natural progression.
______________________________________________________________________________

Kanye speaks from the heart on a lot of his music....meaning he is conscious about things in the world around him and his social life.....It was a new wave of conscious that appealed more to the mainstream with fire beat....His rapping style neccesarily reflect a conscious rapper with that rigid flow like Talib, mosdef, pharoah monche and others...

We all put niggas in boxes when we give them a label, so stop getting aggy fam....Kanye is not a high level lyricist but he makes conscious music.....It might not sound like the 90's conscious music but he certaintly inovkes a lot of thought in his music.

I think the real problem with rap music today is that folks are trying to do everything else but concentrate on rapping. Rap and music in general has proven that an individual can open up a lot of OTHER doors even with a semi-successful rap career. Standing out from the bunch visually seems to more important than anything else these days. Crazy clothing and overpriced jewelry seems to be the favorites of choice these days...

the reason why I blamed Kanye, is not because I consider him to be a hipster (kanye is the truth) but moreso because he made it ok for niggas to be their true selves. That allowed the invert sissyness of some of these used to be hard core niggas, to be the true faggots they are. Theres no room for queers on the front lines.

True true.....I agree with this.....and guess who gave him the big Co-sign?....

all the new hipster rappers are just reinvented backpack rappers….

***nah, for the most part, they’re a bunch of metrosexual kids from the suburbs- the ones with talent don’t even want to be associated with that label (no Dame Dash Music Group)—with a few notable exceptions, like Heltah Skeltah, so-called “backpack rappers” carried the title like a badge of honor, and elevated the lyricism of the game- not so, with the bright colored, “skinny jeans” crowd…

^ i havent really heard anything that sets these cats apart all that much. some of them have decent flow, decent spit, decent rhymes.. but nothing to make me play it on repeat

at least some of the "backpackers" were ill on the mic

Kanye is not really a hipster rapper though….when he first came out he was a regular dressing dude….but he wanted to make his own style…..all the new hipster rappers are just reinvented backpack rappers….

Kanye is more of social/street conscience school boy type rapper, with a po-pimp flow that reminisces of that chicago style…
^
Delusional Comment of the day

Pink Polos Flipped up Collar is regular?
Drunk and Hot girls, wait till i get my money right, Good Life? these aint conscious joints B

Lol, You took 4 joints out of his catalogue to single out your statement or your argument....That's like saying Jay-z is only a party rapper with Jigga my nigga, big pimpin and give it to me.....

Kanye was out before the hipster movement take place....I'm not condoning his style, but mad niggas started rocking polo and getting they grown man on cause of him.....Now he is constantly moving left the bigger he gets.

_____________________________________________________________________________

Lol, You took 4 joints out of his catalogue to single out your statement or your argument….That’s like saying Jay-z is only a party rapper with Jigga my nigga, big pimpin and give it to me…..

Kanye was out before the hipster movement take place….I’m not condoning his style, but mad niggas started rocking polo and getting they grown man on cause of him…..Now he is constantly moving left the bigger he gets.

So who’s posting this abundance of corny faggotness nation or eskay?

^... when the credits roll, after all is said and done. Once this movement becomes full fledged. Nahright.com will be mentioned as the main catalyst. Its politics as usual.
