Here’s some new shit from a couple of artists who’ve been holding my attention lately (no small feat). This is off the upcoming A Kid Named CuDi mixtape which, like Wale’s Mixtape About Nothing, is presented by 10.Deep.

.Ludacris speaks to MTV’s Mixtape Monday and reminds them about how consistent he’s been. It’s true that Luda always gets left out of Top 10/G.O.A.T. conversations even though he’s certainly a lot of people’s favorite, but that’s when he’s dropping an album/is being properly promoted. That’s what happens when you’re not keen on beefing every other week. He tells MTV:
“I’m top five, dead or alive, and MTV, y’all must be out your muthafucking mind. That’s the statement I’m trying to make.”
His Theater of the Mind album is still a work in progress, but he’s handing it in in about a month. You can expect more reminders.

MTV caught up with Jay-Z to get some of his thoughts on Glastonbury and he also commented on what Amy Winehouse had to say about Ye:
However, when it came to fellow Glastonbury performer Amy Winehouse’s dis towards Jay’s friend Kanye West, the Jiggaman quipped he wanted to make peace.
“She said something about Kanye late on [in her set] but I didn’t hear it,” he said. “I don’t agree with it. He’s my brother and the biggest artist on Roc-A-Fella right now. … I guess I should hook them up because he’s a great guy, too. I don’t know what the problem is. I don’t know where that came from.”

So Talib Kweli & Hi-Tek got back together to rock a show over the weekend, and I heard Mos Def & Kweli were supposed to tear down a show in Hollywood last week… what I’d give to see that.
