Video: Tim Westwood Asks Glastonbury Organiser Why Jay-Z
It was the organizer’s daughter (cue t.I./rapper stereotype) who gave the suggestion for it to be Jay-Z. Apparently, it was a toss up between Jay & Kanye, but they absolutely wanted Jay… considering it would be “very appropriate” for Jay-Z to headline because of the whole Obama thing, a black President and all… makes sense, no?
After the jump, Dr. Westwood inspects the the hood was at during Glastonbury and visits the ghettoest tents he can find. Some South London dudes looking for some snowbunnies… kinda hilarious:

Grenier Getting Paid To Party?
30 June 2008 4:51 AM, PDT
Entourage star Adrian Grenier is looking to cash in on his forthcoming birthday – by reportedly charging clubs a fee for the “honour” of hosting his party. The actor, who has previously charged $30,000 (GBP15,000) for his band the Honey Brothers to play gigs, is set to turn 32 on 10 July – and has allegedly been shopping around his celebrations to the highest-bidding venue.
A source tells New York gossip column Page Six, “He’s been asking clubs in the Hamptons for $50,000 for the honour of throwing him a birthday party.” A rep for Grenier denies the star has played a role in negotiating the deal, claiming it is his “entrepreneurial” manager who is booking the bash.

lyricism: common > nas…illmatic was great and a classic, i agree, but i dont agree that hes the best lyricist in the game and in that respect some of his stuff is a little overrated…common says so much but in few words and keeps his lyrics concise and u still get the full message of what he is saying, and his flow is tight…sometimes nas isnt as clear with what hes spitting but its still tight nonetheless…

As for the whole endorsment thing KRS was right. Rapping shouldn’t be an artist’s main source of income. He said that ages ago. A lot of artists today need to learn that. Whether its endorsements or get another job. I wonder how artists like a Papoose, Saigon, Grafh and others that will never drop albums will be making money in their 40′s and 50′s. It’ll be interesting to see.
