Soulja Boy is a horrible rapper, but I don’t hate on him and never have. He’s talented at what he does, which is make hip-hop inspired, teeny bopper pop music. actual rap artists shouldn’t even be acknowledging him.

^^But Soulja Boy is hip hop, just shitty hip hop, it’s not like he invented a new kind of music that we’re just too stuck in our ways to understand. I’m not sitting around bitching about him ruining hip hop, but if he’s brought up I will say he’s garbage, because he doesn’t offer anything as far as content is concerned. Nah, I said soulja boy style of rap is a different type of Rap….A new style that we haven’t really heard before…..It’s more of a chanting of sorts that dates back to the negro spirituals and the slave days….

Southern music has always been more rhythymic based and chant based….that’s why there is more dancing and perceived coonery going on…..

Hip-hop is a product of social constructed entities and how they are formed….

I like “real” hip-hop just as much as the next man, but I can’t get too emotional about the wave of a certain genre or type of Music and it’s ebbs and flows and changes over time because…….

Music can be explained in exemplars, paradigms, theories, elements and so forth…..one thing we do know is that all music changes and Not one genre of music has been the mainstream forever….Something new will come along and even soulja boy fans will despise it….
