What Jay is saying about the “fuck genres” “good music is music period”, is a very good look for HipHop, it validates hiphop as a legit artform not to be pigeonhold by being labled as only “black innercity music”
So even the haters have to agree that Jay is using his star/influence to stop these out of pocket crackers trying to marginalize hiphop as nigger nonsense.

Sohh true… i respect dude for being bold enough to post such ridonkulousness on here though. back in the day ninjas would get banned from this site for making such nonsense.
i’m high right now, but if we ever got to the point where humans could fly, even if it was with one of those backpack things on the movies in the 50’s, i’d want coldplay on my ipod.
D., way to back down. I used to look down upon backpedaler’s, but as i mature i see it’s nothing wrong with picking your battles. It would’ve been a long saturday afternoon for you if you would have standed firm.

>>yeah, i really didn’t mean all time…. seriously, I don’t know if 7 Day Theory would make all time top 5 of all genres. *puts on kevlar and bulletproof hat* Hope I don’t get a concussion, but better that then a hole in the head…
All of these artists have at least 2 albums better than anything Pac (and most people in Hip-Hop) has ever released…
I cant speak for the others, cos I’ve never really been into their music
But its all just opinion anyway…and I see you realised what you actually said lol
Everyone listens to Bob Marley lol…You ever heard of Dennis Brown, Garnet Silk, Freddie McGreggor, Beres Hammond, John Holt, Gregory Issacs or Peter Tosh?
Check dem out for starters (if you havent already). You’ll like ‘em if you like Farda Bob. Truss. You wont be disappointed.
I don’t listen to any rock music whatsoever and I’m not completely sure I’ve got my facts straight about who approached who for Jay’s slot at Glastonbury but I’m in agreement with everybody who was against his appearance.
I’m a fan of his music, definitely. He’s one of the best ever without a doubt. If he was offered the chance to be the first hip-hop artist to headline at Glastonbury, he would have been a fool to take them up on the offer. They were, however, wrong to offer him the spot. They were trying to “fix” something that is rooted in tradition. Rock heads only have one place they can go to for their music - festivals, of which Glastonbury is as big as it gets.
For Jay to have been invited, Glastonbury has betrayed its fans.
The set’s live right now, and he’s killin it. It’s a shame he’s gettin no reaction from the people whatsoever.
