AG was NOT a classic. neither was Black Album, Shawn only has 2 classics. BP and RD.
Nas has 2 also Illmatic and It was written… Stilmatic is debatable…

Shawn’s got three classics, Hard Knock Life is on the list.

Those double-time rhymes he was doing with Lamont on freestyles… ummm…. some call-and-response tracks… and er… uh… let me hear some over-the-top metaphors. Yeah, that’s it.

Jay-Z can’t win for losing with some of ya’ll mofo’s, ya’ll want him to take it back to reasonable doubt days, but if he rap about coke ya’ll gonna kill him because he aint sell drugs in 10+ years, he finds a reason to rap about it & ya’ll kill him because he found a reason to rap about it by saying he faked a concept album to rap about coke. what is it? He gave ya’ll kingdom come & ya’ll didn’t like it, what do ya’ll want from jay?
^^^
I didnt like Kingdom Come, because it sucked. Musically. Rapping about what he was rapping about on there is fine, Jay just couldnt find an effective way to do it. And I did enjoy AG. It was a fake concept album, but I’m not taking anything away from it. It’s Jay’s fault also, you cant pigeon hold yourself as the ultimate hustling ninja, then expect the general populace to still fuck with you when you start rapping about water in Africa. Especially if you’re not rapping about it well.

wrap after KC,
^^^^
The Royals? nah but i liked KG better then AG…..Songs like Minority Report, Beach Chair, The prelude, Lost ones, Dig a Hole…..well nuff said….like is aid before if he would of talked about selling drugs then he woud have been fake but when he keeps it funky then its not kool to niggas…..Whats so bad about bragging about business ventures and telling niggas to take it from the streets to the corner office….but that just my opinion
June 26th, 2008 at 11:09 am
personally, i listen to KC about 3.4x more than i do AG.

>>>You acting like we should be grateful that He “gave” us Kingdom Come….
^You missed the whole point I was making, people complained when he raps about stuff he don’t do anymore, so he rapped about shit he do & got killed by the public for it.
>>>>>The dude is an entertainer and sells records…He doesn’t “give” anybody anything….If the shit aint hot it aint hot fam
^To you, alot of people I knew thought it was hot, what you eat don’t…… you know the rest, that’s your opinion, not a fact, someone out there thinks eli porter is hot, is they wrong for feeling that way?
>Kingdom come was not good at all…..Based on the fact that he was the savior of Hip-hop…..He doesn’t have to give us anything….
*Blank stare* Just admit it, you wanted a AG/RD album from jay
>>Rap is like ball….jay can’t dunk no more or straight posterize cats…now he’s shooting the fadeaways and hitting the outside jumpers..
^Real fans respect growth, just because jordan couldn’t cram on niggas don’t mean he was less effective, he just added & adjusted to what he was working with. Only casual fans wouldn’t respect hard work, they only there for the flash, like fake boxing fans that was loving the sport when mike was k.o’n niggas, now there the same people that say boxing is wack & watch ufc, they don’t understand or respect the sport, just like with rap. Besides Jud I never seen you dunk ever, not even in practice, lol

^Co-sig. Everything sounded forced on that album. Like, maybe down the line if he was to let it naturally flow it would’ve been a better album. But, everything just sounded like he was tryin’ to be a crowd pleaser (i.e. Volume 3, though it was a solid album). And maybe he really did put up a sincere effort, but it just didn’t reach me. For instance, when you hear Nas on the Nigger Tape, you can tell he means that shit. Because when Nas tries to do commercial joints that are out of place, it sounds forced.

AG is a good album do not get me wrong, but I was more impressed hearing the Black Album than I was when hearing AG. I guess it was the time when the album dropped could be a part of it. When Jay dropped AG it was like, okay he just dropping an album just to do it, but it was a good album. With Black Album it was supposibly his last album, then being at the concert and when I heard the album, I was like damn..that’s just me though. I could see me playing the Black Album more in 10 years than AG. Listen to “Threat”, “Lucifer”, “Allure” I mean come on.

Rosie has this “please accept me, the little Jewish man, into your world of hip hop” presence when he interviews people. He doesn’t seem confident enough. He reminds me of the annoying dudes at Baruch College who you passed by 3 or 4 times throughout the day and wanted to give you dapz each time.
Cipha > Enuff > Angie > Rosie > Flex, in terms of interviews.
