I’m currently on Rufus-era Chaka right now
***Rufus era Chaka was ridic, but twinkies and ham sammiche casseroles ruined that, lol…Alicia Keys, though, I swear to God, that bitch gives me butterflies (no King of Pop)
^Yo, remember the “You Don’t Know My Name” video? Well, the historic restaurant where she shot the video, Pan Pan’s on 13th & Lenox, burned down a couple of years ago and I aint find out until a few weeks ago when I was actually up there. I’m strollin’ up the street thinkin’ I was about to get some waffles, and all I see is a big ass empty space on the corner. So for what it’s worth, Alicia Keys possibly will be the last artist to say that they shot a video in that restaurant. Kinda ill and fucked all at the same time (c) winning the lottery and owe 90% of it in taxes

Of all the people who won, I’m glad Raheem and C. Brown won. I want Raheem to win because he’s a local dude and I’ve watched him go from doin’ small ass venues like Gardel’s (B’more) and the 9:30 club to having a smash hit on the radio. Not to mention The Love Experience is a CLASSIC. And I aint throwin’ around that word, that’s a certified album.
I want C. Brown to win because for a young guy he’s a cool humble dude. All these other lil’ ninjas be at interviews with fuckin’ dark sun shades on and half-answering the questions. Then they wanna claim to be the best at everything, and you can’t say shit to ‘em or they’ll react like lil’ girls. Chris, on the other hand is always laughin’ and jokin’ around, not to mention that he even admits that the competition is just as good as he is, if not better, and that he has to stay on top of his game.

@ RIGz- good looking out- I always like to hear some “out of the box” type shit- question, though, since you’re a yardie, do you do any chatting, like Phife, Heav Diggy, or Busta? Just curious (no Yayo)
^^^^^^^
Yeah, but funny enuff, I’ve never done it on one of my OWN songs…
Dunno why tho…If someone asks me to do it on their song, I will. Or if it comes out, it comes out
But I suppose my shit is still cluttered with Yard slang & references…just in a Englishy accent

“Best Female Hip-Hop Artist: Missy Elliott”
^
I may be out of the loop, but did she even put out an album in the past year?
its not like she has much competition, but i think she won by default.

LOL at T-Pain repeatedly yelling during his performance, “I’m the ring leader of this music shit” and sounding like he was trying to convince himself. Fuck T-Pain, but “In Love With a Stripper” and “Buy you a Drank” are great songs. Even tho I wholeheartedly disagree with their main sentiments being expressed in each. It IS tricking even if you got it…
June 25th, 2008 at 10:48 am
lmao @ rigz
T-Pain looks like he should be doing magic tricks and pulling rabbits outta the top hat

***Co-sign- plus, dude knows how to connect with the fans (n/h)–none of that lip syncing, smoke and mirrors shit like yaboy Usher was doing- just good, old fashioned, tried and true entertainment. He also stays active locally, and still hasn’t lost touch with his city- he might me at Madison Square as an opening act one night, but best believe he’s gonna perform @ Zanzibar or H20, too…
June 25th, 2008 at 10:50 am
BTW- that Ursher performance was terrawfulble

Lil’Mama should have won best female hiphop artist, since I’m almost positive she’s the only one of the nominees that actually dropped a record.
