I wasn’t tryin’ to be funny but I understand. Ali trascended sports when i was coming up. He stood for Black MEN unafraid to challenge the “establishment” and let the chips fall where they may. He LOST THE PRIME of his sporting life for a belief and STILL came back showing a resilience that MOST of us don’t have but is something to aspire to . I cried because Ali represented the strength I’ve always wanted to see in ALL Black men. I’m a child of the ’70′s so I guess you just had to be there…
