Compare Riks top 5 to Hypes top 5 and you will chang your mind about that. He hasn’t been in the game that long to earn that comparison. Point blank Hype changed the way a rap video supposed to look and to this day no one has took it to another level after Hype since.

Not so…contrarily the Herbie Hancock (first rap music video) piece was dope at that time. So to place Hype Williams on a pedestal according to how long he’s been in the game, please accept an objectionable view. Taking nothing away from Hype without discrediting his stake in the MV genre…Rik Cordero certainly provides an accurate portrayal of innovative visual storytelling…Artistry is Artistry…Everyone has a particular taste in the obvious optical illusions that are place in their sight. Personally, I think Hype had his time to really catapult the cinematography game for minorities but gave up once he got no love from the Belly attempt. Hype will always get his due in the MV game but there’s absolutely talented and reasonable artists out today that will convey the message…just so happens Rik and others like him (myself included) are making our way into the MV based on passion and creative adrenaline.
