To those who say Nas is just “speaking his mind” and hasnt researched the topic.

Before you can criticize you need to know and understand Nas’ agenda, if his agenda is to educate on the history of the word, then he should research, if his agenda is to raise questions for people to discuss, then he’s accomplished his goal, their are people across the globe discussing the issue, “is Nas right?, is Nas wrong?, whats the purpose?”, etc. and these questions lead to the discussion of the word, the discussion of the history.

Maybe Nas’ agenda is to simply vent whats on his mind and if so he has every right to do so. Even if he only means to vent, he still raises awareness by helping to developo discussion.

Simply put, you cannot criticize if you do not know his agenda.
