‘Cause there’s no way you’re going to convince a lot of radical jihadists that Israel should exist, but you can smooth things over with a lot of people by allowing the nuttiest blowhards (ahmadinejad, al-sadr, bin laden) to have the little bit of rope and respect to hang themselves with, and you can get the increasingly progressive and capitalist peoples in the Middle East to start putting some of the religious-based warfare in the past and just work towards a region that’s not always on fire.

but the problem i have is that smaller factions like hezbollah exist mostly to counter israeli interests in the middle east and not necessarily to represent the people’s will. hezbollah is out of control. it has way too much influence, more powerful than the government.
what complicates shit is that iran/syria run hezbollah so in turn, iran/syria have too much influence in lebanon. iran and syria run lebanon as some sort of battleground in the overall battle with israel. totally unfair to the people living there.
