Song is dope but what’s with all that “let’s pretend this is a film when really it’s a music video” bs? Credits everywhere ‘n shit… too much in my eyes. I mean for real they showed more credits and “directed by…” blabber than the actual song.

Also I think Nas ridin’ a little too heavy on that slavery shit. I mean he gets the message across but not every 3rd line needs to be about some white dude shootin’ blacks.

Not exactly, could have been better. Valid points in regards to Filipino director to portray the Black Experience. But not a failure. The video to song itself is bad and they use the same clips @ end of video that they use when he says, spic nigger, chink nigger etc. Same damn shots. That was just lazy. I think he blew it. They were trying to draw a parallel between how blacks were treated during slavery and how we treat ourselves and how others treat us now, BUT the point was barely driven home. As someone else stated, there was no narrative. If Nas wanted to make a point he had MONTHS to think of a hard-hitting video concept to go along with the song….it says in conjunction with The Jones Experience, so Nas clearly had input…so he chooses a Filipino director to portray the black experience and fails incredibly. this is a total failure…

The first part with Nas rapping over the piano is the best part of the video. The outro rapping is the second best part. The actual song the video is based around is the weakest aspect here.
