    and speaking of nonsense, wayne’s shit is abstract and playful and ridiculous but thats its strength. Thats the point: the idea is its innovative, genre bending, experimental. Jay is straining so hard to be thought provoking, political, intelligent, nas-like and it really falls flat. What made him great was how honest and effortless his shit always was. Like it just fell out of him cuz thats who he was. It was just the dude with by far the most swagger in the room (why he beat Nas) and the occasional introspection that really felt sincere and like it illuminated him as a man. Now its like global world Jay debating issues at the middle school level, as far as moneymaking it used to be “I wake up hit my shoebox,” now its “I wake up, look at the ocean, call my lawyer,” and the only introspection is about celebrity which is fucking boring, spare us.
