Ty I read your piece and I understood why you picked the Lakers. I just don’t see them coming into Boston and taking Game 1. Celtics held Kobe and the Lakers in check during the regular season. I don’t wanna hear this bullshit about Pau Gasol not being on the team because at the time, people were hyping Bynum up as the Next best big men west of the Miss (east obviously Mr. Howard). What’s Gasol won anyways? Isn’t this his first playoffs? A couple of Eurotrash titles and an Olympics against a US B-team squad? Yep, his team is trash. I can’t decide which was worse. The pupu platter of drew gooden, larry hughes and co. or wally, ben wallace and joe smith. Either way, he has no help outside of Z hittin 20 footers (ouch!) Duncan could be one of the best PF in the history of the game. He’s clutch, plays excellent defense and has that switch where he can turn in on when he has too. This year their supporting cast just didn’t get it done. Horry is not that player anymore, Brent Barry, Oberto, Finley (smh) Team should never have traded Scola to Houston, he would’ve helped them against the Lakers…

Marlo’s ending was ambiguous. Do ya’ll think his scuffle on the street corner was implying that he was never going to be able to leave/change (like he told prop joe) and his downfall was inevitable or was it his last final hurrah to prove he still had it before saying goodbye to the game forever? My opinion is the former. Thoughts?

Nah, I interpreted it as showing how no matter how big you are and how much power you hold you can be replaced in a blink when it comes to the game. It’s like a never ending war that continues each day with or without you. Niggas are like placeholders. There will always be another nigga running the corners, another Omar, another Avon, etc. It’s just the system. It showed how really irrelevant these niggas are in the whole system of things. The only thing relevant is the money. The individuals will always be replaced, the system won’t. At the end of the day I saw Marlo coming back and being disrespected like a nobody showing how in like a week his empire crumbled and his name/rep suddenly becomes history while the next youngin coming up take his place and the cycle continues. Marlo just didn’t realize that.

Does he really deserve one though. He’s been a shitty teammate throughout his career. They start winning post Shaq era and everything is deaded, but what happens if they come out tonight and lay an egg when it’s all on the line? Let’s see what Kobe does, his talent is superior but it’s his head that’s the question. I think we still need answers.
