Thats what I’m saying Digi…People spens so much time complaining about whats bad, they forget to celebrate whats good
There’s alot of ill new shit nobody gives a chance…
People need to stop waiting for Jay or Nas (or any 90’s legend) to come and “save the gameâ€
Hip-Hoppers are worse than the Christian’s looking into the sky, waiting for Jesus to descend

^Though it’s fair to assess that people who rap about it and actually going through it is considered authentic, some people just know how to make better music than others. I’m not sayin’ Prodigy is better than Sai or vice versa because that’s all subjective to the individual. But it is fair to say that some artists, who may or may not have lived out every aspect of their rhymes, have a knack for making quality music that the streets (or whatever their target fanbase is) generally enjoy. We cannot take away from the legacy that is Mobb Deep because they ARGUABLY 3 classics under their belt amongst the 5 or 6 albums they did together. And Prodigy’s HNIC 1 + 2, plus ROTM, have been heralded as bangers by the general pop of the fans that like that type of gritty, street music.
I’m not sayin’ Sai fits into the following mold, but not every person who lived through it actually have the talent to rap and make quality tracks about it. If that’s the case, the real AZ, 50 Cents, and other criminals would be artists too.

Hell… if Assata, Farrakhan, and Malachi could rap they woulda been off’d years ago. So instead, Mos, Talib, dead prez, and Mortal Tech will suffice. But just because they spit about it don’t mean they’re the most righteous when not in the booth. Yeah mean?
May 21st, 2008 at 9:58 am
But…But…I thought Sai’s album dropped on 12/4/2007, along with The Wu and GFK!
But seriously…
This doesn’t come as a huge surprise. I like Saigon a lot [||] and I like Just Blaze a lot [||] and it’s about fucking time that this album came out already. If they have delusions of it going anything past triple wood they’re kidding themselves, but dangit, put the album out.
And I’m sure I’m in the minority, but I love the vocoder sound. I dunno what it is, but maaannn, I does.

Track is pretty good too. Sai’s got such an intricate flow at times but he makes it seem effortless.

^I overstand your point, but judgements of character are weighed differently. Like, someone that doesn’t really bus their gun is a lot higher on the scale than someone who touch boys. In all fairness, the two are incomparable.

May 21st, 2008 at 10:08 am
I like this track… rhymes and beat…
But in general (not talkin’ about this track in particular), I’m tired of the vocoder. After Snoop’s “Sensual Seduction” it should’ve been deaded because no one has topped his rendition of it since that song dropped.
And on the realz, it’s 2008… all this fuckin’ technology we got… and the best that ninjas could come up with is swack the vocoder from the 80’s? I know we can do better than that. That shit has gotten old. Fast.
I know it has run its course because I called my grandmother the other day… and when she answered she was on the vocader.

^To each his own then, because that disc is a classic IMO. The only difference I see in his rhymes now compared to back then is that he slowed down the flow. That’s about it. Same topics of discussion. 50 and Jay are also victims of age (which tends to make one more sluggish), because their flows have slowed down tremendously.

Not hip hop, but cotdamn @ this sentence- did the judge even notice that dude was white? LOL…
ORLANDO, Fla. - The man who created the Backstreet Boys and ‘N Sync has been sentenced to 25 years in prison on four federal charges.
But Judge G. Kendall Sharp in Orlando, Florida, said Wednesday he would reduce the sentence by one month for every $1 million that Lou Pearlman returned to the investors he stole from.
Pearlman pleaded guilty in March to two counts of conspiracy, money laundering and using false statements in a bankruptcy proceeding.
He is most famous for creating “boy bands” that sold millions of records. But prosecutors alleged he bilked thousands of people out of millions of dollars in a decades-long investment scam.

Nah.
P used to show intelligence & awareness in his rhymes.
Now he sounds like an average dumb dude with no education off the block
Whens the last time you heard P say something like this:
Disagreeable Foul Energy
Tryina absorb the strength of me
Knowing its the best of me
Take a few to give me your ears,
My green light shine bright: Krytonite type
Fully operational, my physical clean
Put the bottle of smoke down, picked up a magazine
Popped it inside the AR-15
Put it aside, round up the regime
While You rely on religion, I hold a nine on a mission
To pour fire on the opposition
Revelation was the vision of this,
Crack the heavens its time to bring the bizness
Shit, my story goes back to the Mars’ Pyramids
I seen thing that you wont believe exist
You lose a Lunar, sick, suspended in time dunn
A secondary light got your mind
You rock the fatigues, describing all the popular guns
But are you really perpared for the things to come?

I respect your opinion billz but wouldnt you agree on the fact that a classic has to be clicking on all cylinders atleast? I mean if you said it was a Prodigy classic then i’d might agree but a Classic? On any classic IMO the lyrics have to be above bar and maybe sometimes sub par but his lack luster lyrics disqualified his Lp from being classic, but dont forget thats just me…

That IS Just Blaze on the vocoder everyone. It’s him… no doubt. “Red 5ive” is like his alter ego. He’s a low key kinda guy and doesn’t out right admit to shit like this. But it’s him. I think “Red 5ive” has something to do with the Star Wars shit… which Just Blaze LOVES. So you do the math. But it’s him, all day.
