Jermaine Dupri has this terrible habit of using the same sample that was used (and usually popularised by someone else) not so long ago in the past. I maybe wrong but I swear he jacked ‘The Blast’ by Reflection Eternal too. I’m actually a fan of JD’s body of work too, i’m just saying.

The sample is from Curtis Mayfield and, yes, it was used for the intro to Tru Life’s mixtape, which all of myabe 10,000 people on Earth probably heard versus the millions of people who are gonna hear this (not to mention the fact that Mayfield’s catalog has been sampled again and again and again in hip-hop). I just hope Mayfield’s family gets paid.

yo eskay, i love your site, but as a Muslim reader, i’m a lilttle upset with the “mini terrorist” comment. i know its all jokes, but you’ve got a lot of ignorant people out there and we really need to break down these stereotypes. Not all Muslims with beards who wear a keffiyeh are terrorists. I actually don’t even like the word terrorist b/c it should be a universal term, but we all know its not. African-Americans have dealt with and are still dealing with a lot of stereotypes and now Muslims have become the main target. help us out man.
