Money over Martyr…especially when somebody else is footing the bill. You gotta do what ya gotta do. The industry folks want to make money. Certain retailers would not be willing to display, let alone sell something with a title that would make some of it’s customers uncomfortable. Nas would have to distribute the original title independently. I’m still behind him on the concept of the cd. I fully understand that he is trying to let people know that the non-white population is still being discriminated against and demoralized, even if it’s more disguised and ignored these days…in some cases.

Let’s stop with the hate orgy and think for a second, if not two…

If this was originally intended as a publicity stunt, then you have to give it to Nas for being smart enough to A) not get shot, B) not go to jail or C) not start an irrelevant beef with another rapper to get his project popping.

We’re talking about it right now, and as I post this comment, approximately 337 people have already commented. That’s way more than the comment count for eskay’s “Glow in the Dark” concert post, and Kanye (according to MTV) is the Hottest Rapper Alive.

Seriously, this was a smart move. Nobody was going to buy Nigger but hardcore black fans. In the A.O.B. (Age Of Obama), every ninja with fame and sense (meaning everybody but Curtis) is going to intuitively know that racial commentary is not helpful right now if we really want some real power.

Nas probably knew he was going to generate some controversy with his statement/album title. But he also knew his chances of making it work, in the commercial sense. Now he’s showing us that he isn’t that stupid. And we all know that he, like KRS, is inconsistent with certain things, but still dedicated to the greater good.

Damn, I feel like I said something.
