MTV: Kanye’s The Hottest

MTV’s 2008 Hottest MCs special aired last night, and they crowned Kanye the hottest in the game. I didn’t get a chance to catch it, but the list is online and the special will air again tomorrow night. Links after the jump.
Click each name to read their rationale.
1. Kanye
2. Jay-Z
3. Lil Wayne
4. Rick Ross
5. Snoop Dogg
6. 50 Cent
7. Lupe Fiasco
8. Young Jeezy
9. Andre 3000
10. T.I.
I’m going to reserve comment until I can at least watch the show and hear why they put who they did where they did. But my initial thoughts are: get Ross and Jeezy off of there and move Lupe up and Snoop down (and maybe off too.)

first (kanye)
May 17th, 2008 at 9:48 am
I have no idea why rick ross is number 4, I guess there promoting any rappers that can still sell albums in this current marketplace.
May 17th, 2008 at 9:50 am
it’s funny how 50 cent moved up two spots since he put out 2 new mixtapes.
May 17th, 2008 at 9:51 am
WHERE THE FUCK WAS LUDACRIS!!!!! HE DESERVES THE NUMBER 1 SPOT!!!!
CHECK THE STATS:
-MULTIPLE PLATINUM ALBUMS (RELEASE THERAPY – PLATINUM)
-”RUNAWAY LOVE” ONE OF THE BEST SONGS SINCE “KEEP YOUR HEAD UP” (2PAC)
-LYRICALLY HE’S A FUCKIN MAD MAN! (will outshine lil wayne, kanye, or jay-z on the same track)
“What kept ‘Cris from two-stepping onto the top 10 list is that he’s too damn talented! He makes it look easy, and some of the brain trust members might’ve taken him for granted. He’s been one of the most consistently dope artists since he debuted five albums ago — inventing flows, levying one-liners and, more importantly, building a deep catalog and selling albums.”
-MTV
May 17th, 2008 at 9:56 am
i wish i knew this was on last night. then i could have known i was avoiding some bullshit.
and while luda is dope and had a dope album, i don’t think he is necessarily “hot” in the MTV sense of the word.
May 17th, 2008 at 10:02 am
lol @ 50′s co-sign of Hov being on the list…
“The new joint he got out with Pharrell ["I Know"]. I enjoy that record, because I made that record. It’s ‘A Baltimore Love Thing,’ my favorite record on The Massacre album.”
May 17th, 2008 at 10:07 am
*yawns*
*farts*
May 17th, 2008 at 10:09 am
Luda will outshine kanye AND jay ???? come on homie. The list is for the hottest in the game NOW..what has luda really done since his album came out way back when ?? Nobody’s heard from him..that’s why he aint make it..Yall can watch the whole thing on MTV.com..i watched it last night..Can u believe a couple of them argued that soulja boy should be on this list ??
I’m not really mad @ the list though..I’d put snoop a little lower though..
IF u took anyone off that list, who has even been around lately doing their thing to even get on the list ???I can’t think of anyone
May 17th, 2008 at 10:10 am
Eskay said: “get Ross and Jeezy off of there”
^^^^^ Off with your head!!!!
May 17th, 2008 at 10:11 am
Another garbage ass list, but it is better than last year. I can say Kanye deserves it but its funny when his idiotic stans say the nigga is the new nas AND jay. LMAOOO.. Kanye deserved it though.
50 should be higher than snoop because of all the attention drawn from the album battle shit, it ain’t that serious, after all this is an MTV list.
May 17th, 2008 at 10:12 am
Wow… MTV managed to not fuck this up too bad.
May 17th, 2008 at 10:13 am

May 17th, 2008 at 10:15 am
Right, cuz I’m fucking sure “Baltimore Love Thing” was as good as “I Know”. Can someone please smack Curtis in the face with one of his dildi?
May 17th, 2008 at 10:16 am
They got #1 and 2 right. But everything else is musical chairs IMO. Thankfully enough the brain trust held off on putting Soljah Boi on the list. I was ready to change the channel if that would’ve went down.
May 17th, 2008 at 10:16 am
Andre’s verses on Royal Flush & The Art of Story Telling Pt. 4 > Anything Rick Ross was even associated with.
Also, wheres Bun B? Crooked? I mean last year they named Wayne hottest based simply off his mixtapes and blog hype, Crooked needs some consideration. Or even the Game?
May 17th, 2008 at 10:22 am
Also, wheres Bun B? Crooked? I mean last year they named Wayne hottest based simply off his mixtapes and blog hype, Crooked needs some consideration. Or even the Game?
$$
i believe they consider more than just flow. crooked could be on there next year if he keeps it up. a strip club compatible song that gets heavy air play would help his chances.
May 17th, 2008 at 10:24 am
But my initial thoughts are: get Ross and Jeezy off of there and move Lupe up and Snoop down (and maybe off too.)
^EXACTLY my thoughts

May 17th, 2008 at 10:27 am
How da fuck is Andre 3000 on this list??? Dude put out three verses in the last year. Granted they were good verses, but that aint enough.
Soulja Boy should have been on that list. I hate dude as much as anyone (if not more) but he needs to be there just to show how fucked up the game is right now.
How the fuck can anyone say Rick Ross is a bigger boss than 50 Cent? 50 is better than him in almost every category. Plus their reasoning was that “50 has more hits than misses” But he 700,000 on a miss. That’s something only Jay and Kayne surpassed in recent years.
May 17th, 2008 at 10:27 am
Luda is
one ofTHE most underated rapper i know of… seeing as all his albums i’ve heard have been straight fire..i guess cause he dosent act a fool and is too consistent, no one gives him props.
May 17th, 2008 at 10:28 am
where’s fab?
May 17th, 2008 at 10:29 am
the list co-signable.
PS: nobody outside the internet cares for Crooked I.
May 17th, 2008 at 10:30 am
Andre is my favourite MC of all time but he had not business being on that list. I caught the show last night and the amount of ways they contradicted themselves to justify their list was hilarious. lol@ them making out Royal Flush to be the hottest joint ever and thus warranting 3 Stacks placement.
May 17th, 2008 at 10:31 am
How da fuck is Andre 3000 on this list??? Dude put out three verses in the last year. Granted they were good verses, but that aint enough.
^ill actually agree with that, i was wondering the same thing. the first three on my list:
1. ye
2. lu
3. hov
after that, i have no clue nor do i care
i think jeezy had an album? so i guess he should be on the list, but ross and snoop are placed wayy too high
May 17th, 2008 at 10:33 am
where’s fab?
^werd. if andre made it, they shouldve put fab too lol thats messed up
May 17th, 2008 at 10:33 am
PS: nobody outside the internet cares for Crooked I.
___________
wayne was only on the internet last year too considering it had been 2 years since the Carter II. They put him number one based off the Dedication 2 and Da Drought 3. Sure he had We Takin’ Over and some other quest verses but if you watch the show they were almost entirely talking about his mixtapes.
May 17th, 2008 at 10:33 am
i think nah right should release a hottest list and publicize it. i think we’d get way more love
May 17th, 2008 at 10:35 am
how does going to jail for a year make TI hot? pause
May 17th, 2008 at 10:36 am
My list
1. Kanye
2.Lil wayne’
3. 50
4. Lupe
5. Rick ross
6. t.i.
7 the game
8. hov
9. Styles
10. jeezy
May 17th, 2008 at 10:54 am
wayne was only on the internet last year too considering it had been 2 years since the Carter II.
^Negative, they play lil wayne mixtape cuts in the clubs down here in B-More, I have never ever seen anything like that ever before last year. Crooked I is only loved on the internet, just like joe budden
Them other niggas they suck they no good, I never heard a nigga say they like them in the hood – 50 cent “backdown”
May 17th, 2008 at 11:01 am
When niggas are arguing whether or not Soulja Boi should be ahead of T.I. and 3 staxx, you know that the game is definitely fucked up…Matter of fact where is Bun B at on the list?
May 17th, 2008 at 11:04 am
That MTV panel is gay and their list reflects that. based on their criteria(read. not my opinion) how could Wayne not be No. 1, and how could Soldier Boy, Game, Nas ..etc. be left off the list?…2008 The Year of “Fag Rap”
May 17th, 2008 at 11:06 am

_______________
I see, we’ll then I’m sorry for Crooked. But I wouldn’t be surprised in Crooked found himself some commercial success in the future.
Also I was wondering if MTV defines “The Hottest?.” Is it just hype, or quality of recent output or a combination of several things?
May 17th, 2008 at 11:07 am
pure garbage….
jay is just on there cuz he’s jay and its evident. if u watch the video they dont really come with a convincing argument. i dont like 50 but he obviously has more an arguement for his relevance than the rest of the artists on the list and he should def be higher. rick ross had a weak arguement to be on there too. same with jeezy, t.i. and dre even tho dre is prob top 3 mcs all time. lupe needs to be higher
the list is bogus
May 17th, 2008 at 11:07 am
ITS A FUCKIN SHAME THAT 4 OUT OF THE 10 “HOTTEST” RAPPERS HAVE 10+ YEARS DEEP IN THE RAP GAME…
All the 80′s babies have fucked shit up in hip hop….Shit even the niggaz who was born in the 70′s doing it too. I can’t wait till the 90′s babies show us what they got on the mic in 2010-2020…From the looks of it Soldja Boy and niggaz like him is all we got to look forward to…
Anyone else besides me really miss that hardcore hip hop of the 90′s?
May 17th, 2008 at 11:09 am

Soulja boy should be on the list.
No need to explain myself.

My swagger is similar to Tony Stark’s in Ironman.

All these Rosie O’donell rapper looking like they goin to a bi-sexual wedding shower. Eli for Mayor.
May 17th, 2008 at 11:26 am
Yeah, I gotta say soulja boy SHOULD be on there.
This ain’t the most talented list, or the best rapper list, or the smartest rapper list…
It’s the hottest. Airplay, radio rotation and single exposure. Vanilla Ice could have been on this back in the day, if eli porter had the most played single out he would be in the top 5 so just forget the skill aspect.
With that said get andre 3000 the fuck off the list. He didn’t have his own single let alone a album. Get jay z the fuck off the list too. His singles didn’t get as much airplay or buzz as half the other rappers on this list. American Gangster was a great album but it wasn’t the hottest and it kind of flew under the radar. As usual jay gets the typical dick riding pass.
May 17th, 2008 at 11:28 am
What about Joe Budden?
This cat only put out the most complete mixtape/album series.
Mood Muzik is hotter than any album put out since the Black Album.
Lyrically, not one on that list can kill Joe.
Food for Thought. Eat Up!!!!!!!!!!!
May 17th, 2008 at 11:33 am
Soulja Boy should have not been on the list…the fuck is wrong wit you…
^What? We’re not talking bout lyrical abilities, we’re not even talking bout the message behind the music, we’re talking bout who’s “hot/popular” & soulja boy is more popular than alot of the guys on the list, more people heard of soulja boy than lupe, right? The pannel was bias, they let there emotions take over the truth, the kid made himself, he was popular before his video was on TRL, he was a internet superstar, lupe never had 1,000+ grown people doing his dance in unison, or saying “yahh trick” to someone that was getting on ya nerves, or even broke a artist (the get silly kid) so how couldn’t he be on the list? even if you hate him or feel he’s wack you can’t deny his popularity & that’s what this list is about, wayne was #1 with no album last year.
SMH @ you for letting your feelings get in the way of the truth
May 17th, 2008 at 11:40 am
How rick rawwwws get on the list & plies didn’t? Plies is more popular than Rawwwws. Maybe i’m on a spaceship

May 17th, 2008 at 11:51 am
lol @ Phoenixxx
I have OB4CL in my iTunes account, I just haven’t got around to putting it on my Ipod. It’s something about old wu that don’t grab me like it use too(n/h), maybe too many sword swinging sound effects in the backround or something.
May 17th, 2008 at 11:52 am
yeah I can Ghost deserves a little shout out somewhere at the bottom. he stay in people’s ears consistently with or without Wu, rapping about scaly fish and such.
Imgay 1000 should be nowhere near that list
May 17th, 2008 at 11:53 am
*I can say
May 17th, 2008 at 11:54 am
that Outkast dude is on the list based on 4 or 5 guest verses in 2 years
for that matter, Joe Budden and Crooked I deserve to be on that list more than him
May 17th, 2008 at 11:54 am
That game joint Pain is nice, fuck what you heard. I guess the video makes it better. That LAX album might shape up to be some decent shit.
May 17th, 2008 at 11:56 am
i read blogs because it’s not mtv.
at least you’re not trying to sell me on rick ross by telling me he’s a lyricist of lyricists, especially on that list.
May 17th, 2008 at 11:56 am
lmao at andre 3000 being on the list. like i said earlier this is an mtv list, shit can’t be taken seriously anyways.
May 17th, 2008 at 12:00 pm
Blackthought should have been on that fucking list. If Naledge ain’t on that list next year, I ain’t watching MTV no more.
May 17th, 2008 at 12:00 pm
Wait wait wait…if Andre is in there (as he should be), then how is Black Thought not in there?! I mean, if they’re gonna include dudes in groups, I don’t see how they overlook The Roots’ front man, esp. since they just dropped another acclaimed album!
May 17th, 2008 at 12:01 pm
if Andre is in there (as he should be),
^^^^
Then so should kisss….wat up!
May 17th, 2008 at 12:02 pm
I don’t think 3 stacks should be on that list either, even tho his verses (the little that he do drop) are wicked, but c’mon, the pannels being bias, as usual. The only one that kept it real on both shows are buttahman
May 17th, 2008 at 12:03 pm
3stacks=overated
May 17th, 2008 at 12:11 pm
underrated is Jay z. yeah i said it. American gangter was weak albeit 4 hot songs. I am sick of this kiss jayz’s ass cuz its jay z. He is on that list cuz he is Jay z. this is what is ruining fricking hip hop. Everyone is working or their swagger instead of rhymes. I have listened The ROots new album more times in a week than I have listened to Jay’s American Gangster album in one year. That album was weak. Thank God the movie was not the same as the album. Big Boi needs to be recognised. Jadakiss and most definitely ghost. Time is Money album is still getting rotations like its 2006.
May 17th, 2008 at 12:14 pm

of course jay should be on the list, dont be a fucking moron. although maybe not at #2.
and this is coming from the same guy who says Naledge & Black Thought. i swear u fucking internet kids are incredible.
this is not the ”who Joe Schmoe thinks is nice” list…smh
May 17th, 2008 at 12:27 pm

May 17th, 2008 at 12:33 pm
jeezy is HOT.. dont know whats wrong with you!
May 17th, 2008 at 12:35 pm
That list is wack again… Kanye is not number one…. I’m Cool with Jay-Z or Wayne being number one, even though the last two Jay-Z albums were trash… 50 Cent gets hated on so much that people will never respect the fact that what he does is no different than any other artist not named Lupe or Talib… Snoop and Rick Ross should not be on the list same goes for Andre 3000 who last I checked has yet to release an album where he is actually rapping but if he is there just because he’s good then Eminem should be on the list because last I checked HE’S STILL BETTER THAN JUST ABOUT EVERY RAPPER ALIVE… So where does that leave this list? Well Jeezy and T.I should be higher and..WELL…..Where is Nas? His last album was a near classic and hes about to come again….This list is flawed
1.Lil Wayne
2.Jay-Z
3.50Cent
4.T.I.
5.Nas
6. Kanye
7.Luda
8-10 Whoever you’d like to put…

^nah dude, look at who made the list: andre 3000. the reason i said black thought shouldve made the list is cuz if dre made it, bt should also. he was everywhere for like the last month or so, had hot singles, hot album. andre had…he had….no wait he had….ya he had like one verse.
May 17th, 2008 at 12:37 pm
and hova should def be top three, remember all the buzz around american gangster. u guys have short memories

^wow. This nigga is really on every song, ever. I bet wayne was on the “best of elvis presley” cassette. Seriously tho, just drop the fucking album. He better go gold in the first week atleast
May 17th, 2008 at 12:48 pm
In all honesty,Ludacris should have made your list. How do you omit someone with that much talent. He jumps on any type of beat and kills it. Some of your rappers on the list can only rap,and make it sound official,to certain types of beats. His flow is very natural. Ludacris is a top 5. Maybe I’m not understanding what NOW means. NOW can go back 2 years if the MC has been consistently been either on mixtapes, remixes,or put out an album. They were confused when they made this list. Next time let the fans decide.
May 17th, 2008 at 12:51 pm

Jay-Z and Rick Ross are too high.
Lupe and 50 Cent are too low
Kanye West and Lil Wayne should be 1 or 2, respectively. They’re interchangeable.
They been hot for the past 2 Years.

ps that tuma guy is silly as fuck. he was voting for wayne to be #1 then he throws the vote for him being replaced by jay for #2.
my input is that snoop is not hot at all, his album was mostly barnacles, he’s hot of one song just as much as soulja boy is.
didnt andre 3ooo get put on the list for just a few verses last year? which new verses count for this year. all i can think of is art of storytelling pt 3.
soulja boy >>>>>>>> hotter than andre (obviously this doesnt take into account skill)
t.i. is not hot at all right now. i mean at all. but he will be back in a minute.

why is it hate because people think Andre doesn’t belong on the list? what has he done to deserve to be on it? a hot verse every 6-8 months? is that what it takes? mtv is wack. the list is still a tad better than last years though. if i recall correclty.
May 17th, 2008 at 2:03 pm
im soo glad kanye was number 1 ! mtv got the top 2 right.
bu i told myself if ross is anywhere on that fuckin list im boycotting mtv and im following thru with that completely right now.

why is it hate because people think Andre doesn’t belong on the list? what has he done to deserve to be on it? a hot verse every 6-8 months? is that what it takes? mtv is wack. the list is still a tad better than last years though. if i recall correclty.
>>MTV is wack, we can agree on that… lol but the content on his verses are what he deserves to be on the list for. I remember 3k’s verse on Royal Flush, but I only know the hooks for the Rick Ross songs. quality > quantity
May 17th, 2008 at 2:28 pm
JAY IS ONLY ON THE LIST ‘CAUSE HE’S JAY.
^ ^ ^ ^
DOESN’T THAT SPEAK FOR ITSELF WHEN YOU MAKE A LIST JUST FOR BEING YOU? (EVEN THOUGH HE ACTUALLY DOES HAVE A REASON FOR BEING ON THE LIST)
AND LUPE SHOULD DEFINITELY BE HIGHER. I THINK LUPE IS HOTTER THAN SNOOP.
May 17th, 2008 at 2:51 pm
that Outkast dude is on the list based on 4 or 5 guest verses in 2 years
^^^^^ smh…I believe its Andre 3000
May 17th, 2008 at 3:37 pm
Well, that list is pretty jacked up. Let me state my 2 cents for all the Andre Benjamin fanz. The man actually makes MUSIC for people to educate and better themselves in our F***ed up society of today. I believe the old heads would call it “Kickin some Knowlegde.” I do agree that Ross(XXXXL version of Jeezy) should be booted off and snoop moved to the bottom.

Hov=GOAT he really has nothing left to prove so a hottest mc’s list isn’t really gonna affect his career in any way (good or bad).
May 18th, 2008 at 2:32 am
this is all a joke. One of kanye’s best songs from his newest album is 3 or 4 years old. 50 is a joke for being the millionth to cash in on audiotwo, snoop has ghost writers, rick ross makes decapitation seem worthwhile, etc. Andre had 3 amazing verses, where rick never had one. MTV has no clout in hip hop. I mean, these guys made eminem famous, it should have been royce.
Fuck what anyone else is trying to put up and push, I’ll decide what I spend my time listening to.
When’s the last time anyone on television has turned you on to something hot anyways? Or even the radio?
May 18th, 2008 at 2:40 am
Eh, you wanna put together a top 10 list right now? The game’s in shambles.
There’s a top 3, I think, but besides that upper echelon, who’s really hot?
Mine, which weighs skill and making truly good music way heavy:
1. ‘Ye, who was on another level with his pathos with Graduation and GITD (seriously, a DVD of that show would go plat, and everyone who went would buy it in a half second; so sorry to eskay if he didn’t get to go after all), Donde passing, that Grammys performance, and, shit, did I mention crushing Wayne on Barry Bonds and holding his own on the Lollipop remix? Ain’t fair, the roll this man’s on; he’s got the streets, the clubs, the ‘burbs, and he keeps getting bigger.
2. Hov. American Gangster was the best he’s ever been as a storyteller, and some of his best as a lyricist (Stay out of trouble, Mama said as Mama sighed/Her fear her youngest son be a victim of homicide); that record was a concept album with the lushest stuff producers had, and it STILL got street play. He’s got all his swagger back, even if he sometimes spends it on dumb shit like slaying DeStupid Stevenson and Soulja, and will still eviscerate you on your own shit (Maybach Music, waving bye to Ross) unless you are Eminem circa Renegade, and I’m not sure anyone’s on that level today. So be careful Weezy. Oh, and Heart of the City is Jay’s greatest hits with dollops of showmanship; really good, nowhere near GITD. (Wanna read a metric ton of my thoughts on the tours? http://deadon.wordpress.com/2008/05/09/one-on-one-jay-zs-heart-of-the-city-vs-kanyes-glow-in-the-dark/)
3. Wayne. Dude still has sick flow and metaphor (A Milli’s a beast), and he’s learning how to go MTV for shit like Lollipop, his swag is impeccably hood, and he turned the Lollipop remix into his own shit again with that latex/late text couplet, which I’m still spinning on. And he does more and different shit than anyone else, so he gets something from me for rarely repeating anything but those played out toilet/shit similes.
4. Loop. The Cool was hot shit, lyrically and stylistically, even if it wasn’t the concept album he wanted to make. He’s damn good as the opener on GITD, and he’s rearing (no homo) a stable of artists in GemStones or whatever that goofy dude’s name is and that Santos cat, who can sang. And Superstar is Kick, Push 2008; the remix was hot, but the acoustic is the thermite. Plus, the “high” verse on that N.E.R.D. remix and his total comfort next to Bun on the Swang on Em, and he fits anywhere. Perfect world, he’s the one doing everybody’s guests, not Jeezy.
5. Three Stacks: Hear me out. No one’s calling anything below the four up there lyrical majesty, right? And that’s what you get from Dre on the two verses he did do. Storytellin and Royal Flush are both ridiculous long (RF is like 1:30 and 60 bars of straight lyrical immolation of a track), but not only is there near-flawless lyricism, there’s his political swag, back again, the Grand Don of 2000s conscious rap, He Without Whom There Could Be No Kanye or Lupe (Maybe Even Wayne), that kinda weird dude who makes great music because of his eccentricity, not in spite of it. He could match up with anybody on their own stuff at this point, and he could get even better with a solo disc or with a still underrated Boi on the last OutKast LP. Shit, I think I could put him above Lu with few qualms.
6. Jeezy. I don’t really fuck with him, but I’ve heard some of the stuff off whatever this current album he’s finishing the single cycle from and like it. MTV nailed this, though: He’s the Luda of 2001-03 today with his guesting on everyone’s stuff from Shawty Lo to Ush, except his style’s gonna be the same forever and ever. Gets some points for charisma, but, shit, I wish I could judge him only on lyrics, but I’ll never get past the ad libs and slow flow being more important than them. And I’ll call his “influence” thing a push, ’cause it got us that They Know beat, an absolute banger, but also brought us Rocko.
7. Fif. I do not fuck with Curtis, and haven’t since Get Rich, but I must say it seems like he’s gotten past that period in his career where he was doing the exact same shitty rapping, but I’ma sing the chorus shit that he buried Ja for doing, at least lyrically. He still picks dumb fights for no reason at all and is more of a drama magnet than anyone but Kanye (and Ye’s shut up while on this tour, more or less), so he’s going to be looked at as petty and a pretender to the throne forever if that’s his M.O., but he’s still a Big Ticket, KG-style: Can carry a team and get some respect, but keeps shooting that damn fadeaway instead of smashing skulls like he could and did in earlier times.
8. T-Pain/Akon: Again, hear me out. They’re still sort-of rappers, right, and they’ve got the hook game cornered for sure; you still call one of them for anything you want a killer hook for. And they’ve both been on great runs in the past year(ish), Teddy Penderass on some Midas touch shit with that vocoder. Sure, they’ll never win lyrical awards, but they put their mark on the game with what they do so damn well, and that’s an important part of this, I think. They make other people’s decent into good, and that’s one of the few things saving hip-hop from irrelevancy.
9. Crooked. I know he has no street love and it’s basically just a bunch of us stans on the tubes that think he’s hot, but dude has wicked words and sycamore flow; if he ever gets a single out, or an album, he’ll be like Game crossed with Lupe, ‘Pac but a little less thug and a lot more lyrical. Mad potential ain’t half bad when the alternative is established shit like Soulja Boy.
10. Clipse. I’m a Brothers Thornton stan, but WGI4C3 was magma, and they’ve got lieutenants forever in Liva and Sand. Plus, they do work like Push did on that N.E.R.D. joint, and people will call back. They’re criminally slept on, and I guess that gets them motivated for shit like Re-Up, but if someone gave them half a chance at decent promotion…
Feel free to murder me; I got rhino hide.

Yall buggin thinkin soula boy should be on this list..it’s the list for hottest MC’s in the game..SOULJA BOY IS NOT AN MC!!! Just cuz he sold a bunch of rintones he deserves a spot ?? fuck outta here..if that’s the case, put flo rida and t-pain on the list too..
MTV’s list is no law..anybody can put up a top 10 list and EVERYBODY will pretty much disagree with whoever gets picked..MTV don’t even play hip hop anymore,so why do they get to decide who’s the hottest in the game ??
May 18th, 2008 at 2:52 pm

Kanye is number one, Jay really didn’t do it for me this year so he’s number 4…Lu is number 3…Lil Wayne is number 2…I don’t care about anyone else but why is TI on the list? Why is snoop number 5? Snoop didn’t hit it hard this year…he had that good “SS”…that was hot as hell but who plays it anymore? Do you?
May 18th, 2008 at 7:02 pm
Yall niggas buggin sayin soulja boy should be on this list…the list is for the hottest MC’S in the game…Soulja Boy is NOT an MC..IT’s not the list for the hottest ringtone,or most radio spins..If that’s the case,flo-rida,and t-pain would be on the list too…Yall niggas be naming dudes that be nice on the mic,but aint got no appeal to the masses..Just cuz u rap and got an album out, don’t mean u in the GAME

May 19th, 2008 at 2:23 am
Rick Ross and Jeezy? It the whole list.
May 20th, 2008 at 9:34 am
took me a while, but here it is
1. 50 cent (act like you dont already know, no one has more of an impact on hip hop than this man)
2. Kanye (how can he be #1 when 50 is the only reason hes so popular?)
3. Game (single handedly brought the west coast back)
4. Soulja Boy (hate to say it, but it’s a list of HOTTEST mc’s, doesnt matter that hes not good, you ppl still like him)
5. Styles P (year in and year out, bar for bar)
6. Crooked I (what other rapper you know that had the balls to spit over da either beat, plus dude was bringing you the heat every week)
7. Jeezy (brought his own style to the game that is very much copied)
8. Wayne (fell off after he stopped rappin like j and started rappin like wayne)
9. Lupe (just one big hit, but album was classic and full of them)
10. NaS (anticipation alone, and quite possibly on track to being the greatest mc ever)
Honorable Mention –
11. jay z (still talking that same old played out stuff [like how the dealers also get addicted] and biting ppl’s styles and ideas, cant expect anything new from the jigga man, hes been boring for a while now, roc boys? are you serious?! sooo boring!! remember this is a HOT list, boring is not hot)
