I stopped counting after the umpteenth mixtape…when it gets here, it get’s here, the hype/buzz has passed. The perfect time to drop woulda been a couple weeks after the “Lollipop” vid hit the airwaves. But still, rabid Weezy fans are frothing at the mouth so My opinion is meaningless.
Nah BG made the song “Bling Bling” which was a play off of a line Wayne said in a song from Juve’s 400 degrees and if i’m not mistaken a early Hot Boyz song called “Shinin”. Most of Cash Moneys hits when they got nationwide fame borrowed their hooks from famous lines in hit tracks from their local days. Like someone in the video said, commenting on the “Block is Hot” track, Wayne made a lot of sound effects in his verse’s back then it wasn’t just on that track. This brings up my beef with the vid. They got a lot of cats who know nothing about Cash Moneys history commenting on dude. That was his thing back in the day to incorporate sound effects in his lyrics when describing something, hence when talking about diamonds = bling bling. Furthermore, if you go back and actually listen to the early Hot Boyz album tracks, and even their first nationwide album, its very clear who had the most potential out of the group. Go back and listen to “Clear the Set” off of Guerrilla Warfare.
