i remember exactly when i liked weezy: it was before last summer, from the time he released hustla muzic until the carter 3 “Sessons” or watever that mixtape was called. and then for some reason i stopped listening to him, and i tried listening to him again and was like “yo this dude sounds horrible”. and then i tried listening to the Drought 3 and it was 2 discs of solid garbage.

I won’t front, it definitely affected my opinion back then, but I can listen to his shit objectively now and I still have the same opinion. and, interestingly enough, I was loving the Makavelli album when it dropped and those anti-West feelings were still very strong in New York at the time, but niggas couldn’t deny that album.

anyway, Pac stans are notoriously closed minded. ya’ll have elevated that man to a level that doesn’t even make sense. at the end of the day, the nigga just wasn’t that nice lyrically and it has nothing to do with where he was from.

His list is on point. Pac would be in my top 15 of lyricists (maybe). Now if you wanna talk about inspiration, then he would be in top 5 mos def. Pac was like a preacher in the booth. He knew how to say shit to get you motivated whether good or bad. But if we’re talking straight skills (vocabulary, rhyme scheme, breath control, story telling, etc.) then no I can’t put him in my top 5.
