You can’t know that the song is about until you know what context it’s in. Thinking from the perspective of a roach could only mean he’s thinking from the perspective of something that is a survivor and struggles in a world where it is so irrelevant and could lose it’s life easily any day. It lives and eats in the most vile conditions like garbage cans and dumpsters to make ends meet but still continues to live on. Switch the analogy slightly around the the same perspective can apply to a lot of humans, so its not that far fetched.
Or maybe he’s just rapping about the day in a life of a roach thats hiding in your crib. What the roach thinks when its relaxing in your bedroom and hears those footsteps coming up the stairs. On some R Kelly trapped in the closet type shit.
