Joe Budden - Set It Off Freestyle

Over Swizzy’s instrumental.
Joe Budden - Set It Off Freestyle
Related: I understand Joey sent out the following Myspace bulletin about that track “Things You Do” that leaked:
“i have a new song floating around online titled “things you do”, i did not put this record out, nor do i know who is responsible for doing so. The record is about two years old and was left on the cutting room floor, this song does not accurately display my artistic progression, will not be on my forthcoming album, and is not something that i would have authorized the release of…… thx for taking the time out 2 read this, as i hate myspace bulletins, but i do understand the purpose it serves…”

***That’s one thing I was able to do on Nah (none), broaden my perspectives…I always wrote the kid off as that climbin’ thru the TV, “Pump it up”, Carlos Boozer lookin nigga, but MM2 was a certified classic, conceptually, lyrically, all that shit…you owe it to yourself to give it at least one spin all the way through…

***The best common Intro was that “Time Travelin’” blicka, offa “Like Water for Chocolate”—that might still be my favorite Common album, either that or “One Day It’ll All Make Sense”….
May 7th, 2008 at 10:03 am

I’ve heard MM2, well in the car, didn’t really give it the 88′ review, but alot of songs stuck out on there, I give him his props all the time, but it’s just something about him that just don’t grab me (n/h) & makes me wanna listen to his music. Aside from the internet, no one I knows (except 2 dudes, really 2 guys) listen to Joey. “10 minutes” was & still is my favorite JB song. I don’t think listening to a JB album/mixtape is gonna have a lasting effect on me like most albums I call classic. Dude be rapping about some shit I never had a care in the world for, his flow or delivery never change, & I always hear him talk about someone is wack, no your wack. Just because you can put words together don’t mean I have to force myself to listen to your music.
LF: I found my “The realness” CD yesterday & I must say Mega > NaS.
Another LF: I found my 41st side CD also, remember that CD? Everyone on that CD was rockin, even nore killed his guest feature

nas might be a better rapper, but mega has a much better dope song ratio. there’s literally only maybe 5 or 6 mega tracks that arent too hot.

^True, but that’s just how I feel, & I listen to way more Mega than nas, ever since 99′ when he was suppose to get on the violator album, but they scrap his 2 songs (the one with a young lil wayne & the song with the revised “papa was a rolling stone” hook) It’s one thing to have the ability to be great but don’t use it, & it’s another thing to make yourself great by using what you have to the best of your abilities. Some NaS songs just sound like he’s too high & don’t really care what he says, but when Mega raps you can hear his soul in all of his music. & since 2000 Mega catalog is way better than Nas.

^Uh, yes people are. As many a links Ty, rey, billz etc have dropped & said “just listen you’ll like it, your missing out” if that’s an attempt to make someone listen, then…….. example, that’s in this thread

>>>you always on here quoting some atrocious MCs that id rather bathe in cyanide than listen to… i dont go off writing diatribes why i dont feel them though…
^And? If I feel like typing about how my balls smell after 4 games to 21 of full court basketball, than damnit that’s what i’ma type about. I don’t care what you do, you can do what you want, it aint gonna affect me, so why should I care? Why do you care about what I type? Besides I think JB is “atrocious” does that change your outlook on his music? No. You might think some of the stuff I listen to is wack, but hey w/e. I listen to everything, not just singles so I atleast have ground to stand on when I say something is wack, you prolly hear one song from a ninja & mark him off as wack, but that’s what “real” hip hop heads do nowadays, SMFH
