Good for Kanye. Most critics think their opinion matters, but it is utterly worthless. On top of that, most Hip Hop critics are idiots, especially mainstream american columnists. Knowing ‘the history’ of Hip Hop has nothing to do with shit. You need to know lyricism and production. You need the passion, love, and capacity to ingest the art then comment. A dose of humility wouldn’t hurt either. I find it pretty rare that I agree with commentary on Hip Hop material when it doesn’t come from a person who themselves was once a nasty emcee or talented producer.

For one thing, Kanye West can’t spell (To try to throw yall to cents in?) “TO” cents?? I think he means “TWO” cents. Another thing, it’s obvious he’s a sore loser. Anytime this hack gets a poor review or loses an MTV Video Award (like last year) he has to whine, bitch and moan about it. If he would have gotten a good review he would have praised the reviewer and said he thanks God that there are people like him in the world that help spread Kanye’s music to the people.
